Evening everyone hope you all doing well as can be.
I received my consultation report today from having my 6 monthly scan and check in with the upper G.I consultant/Doctor, he believes some of my upper abdomen pain is Musculoskeletal this is the first time I’ve heard this word and i don’t understand what it means i know fibro is some how related, my rheumatologist never spoke of it when i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis I’m gonna go back to my rheumatologist to see what she has to say about it all. Is this another oh well you have fibromyalgia and the pain is related because I’m getting this a lot from my G.P even the bloody dentist has blamed my fibro in the past (sorry about the swearing 🤬) i do have multiple health problems i just can’t add another thing to them or is it a posh doctor phrase for i don’t really know lol
All take care lots of hugs 🤗

It means muscles and skeleton. It is the term for the area that rheumatologists work in. Often it is shortened to MSK and Fibro in the UK is treated by the NHS in the UK as if it is an msk condition Eben though it is not but that's where the symptom treatment takes it.
Musculoskeletal is anything to do with connective tissues, muscles and the skeleton. This includes rheumatology. They are probably sending you back to make sure it isn’t fibro related because it doesn’t fit with the GI diagnosis.
A real pain in the rear end isn't it. However your dentist may well be right to blame fibro. I ended up having so many teeth removed at the dental hospital only to still have the pain so can only assume fibro is to blame! However the doctor blaming shoulder pain on fibro turned out to be incorrect as it was calcific tendonitis so it does pay to double check things but from now on for me dental pain will have to be proved beyond doubt to be dental before I subject myself to any more extractions! Hope things improve for you soon.
