Hi anyone tryed a vibroplate?

Im wondering if a vibro plate will help keep muscle tone, anyone got one? I’m scared of making my pain worse. Got shin splints at the moment, its one of the worst things ever and as normal nothing triggered it off.

Tried one a few years ago, and even at lowest setting 30 seconds was enough to trigger a pain flare for me. But others might have had a different experience xxd

If this is one of those standing exercise vibrating pieces of equipment? If so, I tried years ago as a trial as company wanted me to use regularly cannot say it made the Fibro pain worse or better IMO. But was only once ......but since then have read other stories and apparently it's bet to avoid any exercise or circulation products that vibrate and better to use ones that oscillate. I've read people comment that oscillation is a much kinder and easier on your body than that of a vibration.

I'm sure others will comment with their experiences too!

Hope this helps

Emma :)

I have one .it increased the pain slightly for me. My husband ask his heart consultant if they help with the circulation he replied mmmm if you feel it does . I have never used it since lol

I stood on one at the local sports centre, for about 10 seconds, and thought that it would not be a good idea as my muscles are very tight and it felt as if they were going to rip keeping me stable. I would extend my physiotherapist’s comments on those shoes which are unstable - fine if your back is good already, not fine if you have a back problem.

I have an ossilating Vibropower machine, as I’d also been told to avoid the vibrating types. Over a couple years, it’s built up my arm, leg & core muscles & improved my walking.

I do some basic yoga style excerises on it & built up the time & speed VERY slowly from 1 minute on the lowest setting to a maximum of:

2 mins @ level 3

3 minutes increasingly briefly to level 9

10 mins @ level 5

2 mins @ level 3

Some days I just do 5 to 10 minutes. I don’t use it when I have a flare up.

I use a garden kneeling pad to work on my arms & shoulders and it frees up the tightness.

In the beginning, I couldn’t get up & down off the floor unaided, it was a massive struggle. Now I can do it unaided, as long as I’ve not got a flare up, or back pain, which is an issue at the moment. I’ve had to give up sitting on it & kneeling, due to a fractured vertebrae.

I love my machine, it’s made a big difference to me, but I do use it six days a week, along with a passive leg exerciser and a pedal exerciser that you sit on a chair to use. x

I had to send mine back as it seemed, even on low settings, to trigger off serious headaches after using it.
