Help - does anyone have advice on excruitiating pain in the hip area - not sure if it’s piriformis syndrome but I am unable to walk/move. Worried about not excercising as it’s impossible. On top of that have now developed bad migraines lasting days. Co-codomol strongest dose only takes the edge off both. Any advice or help please - trying to get some help from rheumatologist and doctor but so far no luck - am desperate Thank you

Hi June and welcome to the forum as I can see you are a new member. Really sorry to hear doc and/rheumatologist not helpful,,is it worth asking to see a different doctor at your surgery and one that can refer possibly to a different rheumatologist ??? Not nice being in pain also think surgery need to know about the bad migraines as well , hav e you been on the co-codomol long ??? I cannot seem to tolerate pain killers for long as tend to make me feel sick. I really do hope you get the help you need sooner rather than later. If you would like to lock your future posts it normally generates more replies from our forum members if they see a post is locked giving yourself and them more privacy. That way only our forum will see and not open to the whole of the internet. I changed doctor at my surgery and was so much more helpful, I hope that happens for you too, let us know how you get along warm wishes xxxxxx

Headaches are my worst pain and I've found soluble paracetamol with caffeine ( ones without caffeine don't work) followed by a few drops of CBD oil ( blue) helps, along with lying in a dark room. For the next dose I change to 2x cocodamol followed with CBD oil if the pain is still really bad.

The pain in my hip is usually a sign of a flare up in me. Started today when I was out walking the dogs. Dragged myself around a 20 minute walk, having to sit down twice, got home and have been in bed since. Only things that help are rest and heat.

Hi June, I suffer from bad migraine and have now been put on topiramate 50mg daily with the back up of Rizatriptan 10mg taken on onset of migraine. Touch wood, the topiramate seem to be controlling it quite well. I was suffering nearly daily, and it really affected my vision. You need to see a neurologist to get you on the best meds. As for the hip, have you had it xrayed? Both of my hips were excruciating and had to have total hip replacements in each one. I was constantly nipping my sciatic nerve, causing awful pain in hip and down leg. Just a thought...

I get bilateral hip pain, especially first thing in the morning. I find gentle yoga stretches really helpful. There probably is a piriformis involvement and again, yoga stretches are beneficial in freeing the area up. Hope this helps😊

I take topiramate every night for my migraines it’s really helped it’s a blocker, if one gets through I have a tablet that melts on my tongue which tends to sort it out.

Hi June, I started my fibromyalgia journey with this. My symptoms were a feeling of a blister, you know the type, the one where the finger touching is sensing skin, but the skin itself and beneath feels nothing. Then the following day it exploded into pain, as if the blister burst and left raw skin. Anything like yours?

They thought it was bursitis at first but the cortisone injection had no effect. They tried all sorts but I know now that usually the pain actually comes from the lower back. Try gently feeling up and down your spine to see if it’s the same?

I am on co-dydramol when the pain is bad, Lyrica 200mg morning and evening, Amitriptyline at night with my epilepsy medication Tegretol which can treat migraines and help with sleep too.

When my back is bad I use a TENs machine which helps ease the muscles which tense in self defence. I also take etoricoxib 60mg once a day and sumatriptan for migraines.

I have also had to learn to be extra sensitive about walking further than I know I can, and allow a lot so I can get back. I used a wheelchair to get some independence and a mobility scooter to get out and about. The wheelchair is a great back up if we’re not sure how far we are going.

If you can’t pace yourself and give yourself plenty of time to heal, you won’t heal. It’s 7 years for me now and things have improved vastly. I am a Reiki Practioner now and this helps me and many others. Try going onto YouTube and seek Guided sleep meditations and choose one with chakras. I fall asleep to this every night.

Sending you Reiki healing so you should have a good night. Hope so.

Love and light xxx
