Universal Credit Work Capability Assessment

I was almost certain that I would need to appeal but was totally gobsmacked when I got 0 points across the board.

The HCP must have been one of those idiots who think that Fibro doesn’t exist.

Waiting for the full report so I can tear it apart and appeal.

Best bit was she said I walked about 500m from the car park. Better buy her a tape measure because I measured it at 180m. Then I had to stop because I was tired and in pain.

Wow if you managed to walk 180 metres. That's more than most chronically sick people could manage.

Don't forget to get your MR in

It’s more than I could manage. Suffered from lower limb pain for 4 days after the assessment. Plus the HCP commented when I stumbled trying to get on the couch but says I got on without any problems. I suppose I was a muppet for trying it but don’t like to give up.

You have to learn that 'trying not to give up' has to be left far far away from any benefit assessment. They are watching you the moment you arrive outside the centre. Noting how you got there, how far you walked and if you had anyone with you.

The whole point of the ESA assessment is NOT to pay you any money and get you into work.

Good Luck with your MR

Don’t think they watched me because they would have seen me stop to rest. They must have made an assumption. If not the travel distance would not have been so inaccurate. Luckily my wife/ carer was with me so can back me up.

Never underestimate the DWP in their ability to be underhand and devious

The fact this was outsourced means nothing.

Don't believe a word they tell you and you will get a lot further.
