Hi, we have been talking about this too. Try Rimmel Rescue Nurse or Rescue Remedy, I'm getting some this week! Take care in this cold weather. Ps anyone got any sleep tips?

Hi to you All,

This is just my personal opinion, but I have read and studied fibro for 35 years now. I too have ridges and dry nails for quite some time now. They, the experts say it all comes from the stomach - gluten intolerance which in turn creates leaky gut, bad stomach bacteria, irritable bowel syndrome and malabsorption of the food eaten. This in turn creates the nails being in a sad state and many other problems. I have had IBS for some years now and that is when my nails changed. We should be eating boiled apple to feed the good bacteria, fermented vegetable, farm yogurt, pre and probiotics etc - google it. Do I do that???? I am trying, but also forget when life happens. Keep up your spirits.

Hi, I tried neat olive oil, didn't do much. Might try your suggestion. Never know nails to be so dry. Thought it might've been all the nail varnish I've used since I was 15!! Wondered how everyone's joints were in the snow? Thanks for your suggestions xx

Hi to you all again,

Please goggle Dr. David Perlmutter from the USA and you will understand IBS, leaky gut etc much better then my previous post.

Kindest regards,

I use one of those nail files with four sides You file out the ridges, buff the nail then shine the nail and voila, lovely looking nails which look like they have clear nail varnish on and silky smooth. Give it a try as it does work. Lasts a few weeks too. xx

I use a 4 sided nail buffer too! Helps a lot to improve the ridges. Not perfect, but they look much healthier with that shine! I also find pushing the cuticles back and keeping nails short, helps too.

Try coconut oil or olive oil on Nails to help with dryness.

How is your Vit D. Ridges can be a deficiency and supplements would help. I am taking a guess at D3 just because so many people are under.

Well I am pleased for you. I didn't even try products for the nails - even my toe nails are very hard, thick and ridgy. Maybe it has something to do with age - I am 67 years old - half my life with fibro sick!

Yes my toenails are but have been for donkey's years got some tablets from the Dr but really don't want to get some more fed up with taking tablets makes you wonder how we ever manage to eat. Have spend a small fortune on some toenail stuff tried it for a year and it didn't make any difference, so its not just our age hun

I have next to no nails on my right hand now...the nail bed is exposed and in a poor state. I've tried umpteen remedies and my GP had no advice to add other than paint them!! That is a lumpy- bumpy mess!!

I am now working to improve my thyroid function and hoping that may help.

Have you had your nutrient levels checked? That may help but I'm afraid optimum levels made no difference in my case

Sorry to be so negative but it's a difficult one!

If you have any success please post the remedy "loud and clear"!!

Best...

DD.

A friend bought me a nail oil pen/brush from the Body Shop it has helped a lot, my nails aren’t breaking as often. Although they are still very ridged.
