Just signed up and it’s such a relief to hear that I’m not alone! I was diagnosed at last in January and given the booklet, prescribed pregabalin then left to get on with it ....... ppfff!
Christmas was awful - So tired and stressed that I just couldn’t face putting up the decks so didn’t - does stress effect anyone else that way?
The handful of people I have told I have fm have all suggested strenuous exercise in some shape or form with the inference I should buck myself up then asked me if I’m better now a week later!
Oops I’m ranting - all I can say in my defence is I’m exhausted and have had 3 days without sleep and for some reason the fibro fog cleared at 2am so making the most of it!

Stress most definitely impacts on the Fibro symptoms hence combined with other things medications, complementary therapies, gentle exercise, progressive muscle relaxation other relaxation like mindfulness, meditation other members find helpful.
So sorry to hear your Christmas period was so stressful and sincerely hope you finr this community to be an online support alongside any other support networks you use for Fibromyalgia.
Hi there Beachcomber53 and welcome to our wonderful support group. Stress will make everything worse but it definitely doesn't help fibro that's for sure. Had it for over 30 years and stress makes my pain a 100 times worse. But then the pain causes stress so it's a very vicious circle. I am sure you will find loads of help and shared experiences from our lovely members. I hope you have a pleasant day

Yes. I think prolonged stress triggered my fibro and any bouts if stress worsen the symptoms.
