Trochanteric Bursitis.....help

Hi all, I have a really bad pain in my lower hip . Been to my GP and am told that I have Trochanteric Bursitis. I was wondering if any of you guys have this complaint and any remedies or the miracle cure we are all looking for. My GP says just to take painkillers and do the simple exercises that I was given

Cortisone shots are an option I tried. Didn't real help me, but has helped others. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about it. Hope you get some relief from the pain. I also must sleep with pillows under my hip if I'm on my back or between my knees when on my side.

yep - the injections into the hip definitely help. My daughter has had several injections and is able to do sport within hours of the jabs and they lasted about 6 months.

My friend was given a guided injection after the first steroid injection failed and it has really helped her. Hope your pain eases soon.x

Hi the cortizone injections helped me 1st time 2nd not really xx take care 😙

Hello there. Cortizone injections for sure, i did them at a pain management unit. As many as it is required. Least time between sessions four days. You can do 5. one per week(if in pain that continues) and this is a protocol for most inflammation to almost disappear. Hth.

Hi I too suffer this i also sleep with pillows between my knees and hip I did try acupuncture courtesy of occupational health was good while it lasted but only short term fix so pain killers it has to be. And the cold weather doesn’t help I am an nursing auxiliary on my feet twelve hour shifts can barely walk after a shift I feel your pain. Take care hope you feel better soon x
