Hi all I am a newbie. This year has been pretty awful for me. First of all I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and then when I started getting bad pains all over my body, I was sent to a Rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. 10 days ago I had a total thyroidectomy so am recovering good.
Hoping 2018 is good for you all x

Sorry to hear about both your diagnoses and your recent need for a thyroidectomy. You've found a great site for advice and support, as many members find this to be a great online network to share experiences about Fibromyalgia.
You may also wish to join the Thyroid UK community to discuss your Thyroid issues via this link healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk as I am sure that many members over there can share their knowledge with you.
For a long while now their has been a longstanding debate as to the cause of Fibromyalgia as research by Dr Lowe seems to point towards Thyroid problems to be the cause, however this research was never published in a peer review paper. So, until research highlights any further research to confirm this they remain two different diagnoses. Please see the following post for more information;
As a newbie to the site, your post is not locked to this community and this may be something you would wish to consider doing, so all information regarding this can be found in this information link below;
