Hi all I am a newbie. This year has been pretty awful for me. First of all I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and then when I started getting bad pains all over my body, I was sent to a Rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. 10 days ago I had a total thyroidectomy so am recovering good.

Site may be a bit quiet over Xmas but someone will be around it gets additive
The body pains were quite likely due to the hyperthyroidism so you may find once your Levo dose is right the pains go.

For a long while now their has been a longstanding debate as to the cause of Fibromyalgia as research by Dr Lowe seems to point towards Thyroid problems to be the cause, however this research was never published in a peer review paper. So, until research highlights any further research to confirm this they remain two different diagnoses. Please see the following post for more information;
