Feet in agony

Hello

I am struggling with foot pain, it's underneath, on top and in my ankles. Can be bad even when resting them but much worse when standing or walking. I am going to Florida in April and I am so worried I won't be able to walk around the Disney parks as I am struggling at home and work!

Does anyone recommend insoles to help with this?

Thank you!

Hi Sophie ... I get a lot of all round foot pain and use compression sleeves. The ones I got are by Fit Nation and they're called Anti Fatigue Compression Foot Sleeves - 2 pairs in a box. Got them from Amazon. I find them very helpful. I think they're described as being for Plantar Faciitis which I don't have but thought would give them a try and very glad I did. Hope that helps.

Hi Sophie

I totally empathise with you with this foot and ankle pain, its exactly how I would describe my feet too, its really unbearable and I'd be worried too about the walking in Florida, I wouldn't be able to.

So the think that has helped me the most is using the Dr Scholl orthotic insoles in my boots, i virtually couldn't walk before bought them! They come in half sized which is good and if you go to a large Asda they should have them but you can probably get them on Amazon too. They are the ones that are half insoles and cup the heel and stop your foot rolling and I think I paid £25 for them. I have bilateral plantar fasciitis with enthesitis and osteophytes; these insoles are actually advertised as helping plantar fasciitis.

As you are going in April, you have quite a while yet so I would recommend your GP refer you to a Foot & Ankle Specialist or to Orthotics if your Rhematologist isnt helping, so that you can have ultrasounds of your plants facia ligaments; you may benefit from the cortisone injections, they literally got me back on my feet, and you can also have Orthotics department in your local hospital, make moulds of your feet and make orthotic insoles exactly moulded to your feet which are also going to help massively.

If your going to Disneyland you could also ask for the use of a mobility scooter, I'm sure the parks must have them and this could be a back up aid, you could email them in advance and take some of the anxiety/anticipation away.

Good luck and hope all goes well and you enjoy the holiday x
