I have been living with fibro for about 5 years now, but for the last 5 weeks I have been experiencing severe pain in my neck & shoulder. The doctor simply says that its fibro pain, but my medication isn't working to alleviate the pain. Its becoming emotionally distressing now as it is constant 24 hr pain. Not sure what to do next really, I keep on working but am struggling to do so. Don't know the answers, not sure anyone can answer, but I need to just say it out loud.
Sorry for the moaning, but thank you for reading

Really sorry to hear how much you are suffering, I can understand completely how this pain can bring you down. Are you able to see a different GP or perhaps ring 111? They were really useful in getting my GP to listen to me! Also, I can understand how important working to you is, but could you maybe get signed off for a week or two to try and catch up and rest so you can hit the ground running afterwords? Also are you trying different methods apart from medication, a TENS machine, Magnesium salts etc? This may also help 💗💗
Hi, I also regularly get pain in my shoulders and neck which also goes up into the back of my head and is very debilitating. I find painkillers don't help with it. I use heat, usually a hot water bottle if I don't have to move for a while or a heat patch placed at the base of my skull where it meets the neck. i tie a scarf over it (the patch) which really helps to bring the heat out. This is the only thing I have found to ease the pain at all. Hope that helps
I too have terrible neck and shoulder issue, made worse by bulging discs. I sometimes dread bedtime cos although I'm tired the pain is worse when I lay down -heat or ice helps a bit, Physio exercises help so maybe try you tube for ideas? I was too scared to put tens on base of neck!
