Hi everyone I found Friday that I have fibromyalgia is it usual to be so confused 😕over been told I thinking I may have heard him wrong or is that wishful thinking also do I tell work how do I explain it and to my teenage children. I worry I try will take because my husband has crps and they mum has this . Work no I have back problems and a bit of arthritis but that's all know sorry for rambling 😔

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It can be an extremely confusing time and also provide a little bit of relief that you have an actual recognised diagnosis! For me I struggled to explain it to people but then someone on this portal provided the Spoon Theory link below - it's a brilliant way to help people understand, I advise reading it yourself and then actually acting it out:

getting your diagnosis can be a time of very mixed emotions - you are glad to have finally got a diagnosis but also have so many questions.
I would recommend ordering a copy of the FMA UK patient booklet from fmauk.org/resources (you can request a 2nd copy for your cousin also)
If there is a support group in your area, you may find it helpful to go along and talk to others
