Hi fellow fibro sufferers,

I over heat constantly. Does anyone else experience this and have found a remedy?

Thanks.

Hi Hun- Caz sometimes know as Nurse Gladys Emanuel ( still open all hours) retired nurse and a nickname my colleagues gave me! may I ask you age? I know some drugs make me overheat and when I eat a hot meal I sweat!

Hi,yes, same happens to me,faulty thermostat.Worse in warm weather, but still get like it on cold days.Sure medications don't help,i take Fluxetine, definitely a side effort.Fibro itself can be to blame also.Wish i could give you advice,i know how upsetting it can be and embarrassing.

Hey Hun,

Sorry I can't be a lot of help but I am either really hot or really cold I don't have an in between anymore. So annoying when I go out as I have to take a billion changes of clothes as I don't know if I'll be hot or cold! Xxx

Hi. If I could just stop the head sweats and overheating I think I might be able to cope with the fm better than I do. It just rules my life. Have tried all that there seems to be out there unless someone can come up with something. It's not menopausal flushing( cos I get that too ) This is in a whole different league. If you hear of ANYTHING I would be sooo grateful if you could remember me and let me know. X

Hi. I really do empathise with you as I have terrible hot sweats so bad the water runs down the back of my head and drips off my neck. I am forever wiping my face and neck. I feel so embarrassed especially when I am out in public. Being in a restaurant is even worse.

I am afraid I haven't found a cure but if I do I will post it on here in huge letters.

Hallo number 55. Yes, I overheat too but also cool to an uncomfortable level very quickly as well. I think it's a thermostat problem, ie in fibromyalgia your thermostat stops working :D

Hi Fellow Fibro sufferers. I have been to the hairdressers this morning to have my hair coloured. I wore a thin top and jeans. However when I sat in the shop waiting I started sweating, I could feel the drip drip from my head on to my neck and had to keep wiping myself with tissues.

I always ask not to have a plastic wrap round my neck as Id rather risk the colour dripping onto my clothes than sit with a plastic thing round my shoulders.

The hairdresser (who I know very well) had to dry my hair before she could put in the foils. I then sat uncomfortably for 45 minutes with a gown around my neck. I had to take it off as I could feel it was wet around the neck.

Bless her my hairdresser never comments but its embarrassing.

Moan over. xxx

Yes it is, especially when the chair is wet from sweat.

It's total torment isn't it. Nice of your hairdresser to understand.
