Puns and needles, numbness

Hi all,

I've suffered with pins and needles for over 2 years now. I went to see a neurologist last week and had a numerous of test, he told me it wasn't related to the nervous system. I baffled what it could be? I seen Rheumatology who won't diagnosed fibro, plus neurologist who said it ain't my nervous system. My b12 levels have risen .what can it be; so fed up now!

Have a lovely day.

As NHS choices says one of the symptoms of fibro can be tingling, numbness, prickling or burning sensations in your hands and feet (pins and needles, also known as paraesthesia).

Many people also experience this in the muscles as we tend to tense them with the pain. I get a strange kind of pins and needles sensation down my spine somedays combined with a burning, shooting pain which my old GP said it was caused by the general degeneration in my spine when a piece of bone touched nerve endings. Hope this helps.x

Hello Tea1234

What does your GP think it could be?

Do you have other Fibro symptoms as well, or is it just the pins & needles.

As rosewine says, pins & needles are a Fibro symptom, but I wouldn't have thought that would indicate Fibro on its own.

However, I am not a medical professional so I can't say for sure.

Don't give up asking questions until you get some form of answer.

Good luck.

Well I can tell as far as I know numbness is all part of Fibromygia I have it in my feet legs arms and hands I'm beginning to accept that fibro suffers are all not the same I think the main thing is to be diagnosed with the decease then you can discuss with others the type of pain you have There are a lot of men and women on this site with symtems as mine and others with other areas of pain Docters do there best but unless you actually have the decease you can't really make comment All the Docters can do is help best way they can I spose .

Hi Tea1234

I am so truly sorry to read this my friend, and as rosewine and BlueMermaid3 says, it is listed on NHS Choices as a Fibro symptom. I have pasted below a link to the NHS Choices cache entitled: Pins and needles:

It appears there can be many causes but most of them are nerve related. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you
