Just thinking....

I'm yet awake at stupid o clock. Nothing new there though. Strangely I'm not tired tonight...does anyone else feel like that. Normally I'm like a zombie! I thought I'd post about clothes and shoes. Sunday night I had a night out and wore cheapish boots and my feet felt like they were on fire...so I've decided to only buy a few pairs of boots/ sandals footwear but at a decent price. And this is for the ladies...I really have problems with bras...does anyone else. Luckily I've just found something not under wired. I'm funny about nightwear too. I'll buy a couple of sizes up because I feel comfortable when nighties are loose. And I know all of what I'm saying is fibro related. I just wondered how many of you have changed the way you've dressed since getting the awful illness? I'd say pretty much I hate anything tight and live in leggings and loose long tops. Wishing you all a stress free day

Thank you for your kind message! I wear sandals of the expensive variety because of my joint problems. I can't get away without my Birkenstocks. I'd pay in pain if I tried anything else. I buy the colorful, pretty ones. No grey, black or brown ones for me. Uh-uh. No ma'am, no way. No how. Violet, rose, gold, blue, green. Just nothing gloomy or unexciting for me. My joints and muscles and connective tissue thank me every day.

And about bras, absolutely NO underwires because torture isn't in my vocabulary when referring to my apparel. Comfort IS. I like attractive clothing but it must also be comfortable. Fibro is a big part of this. Definitely. I can't not take that into consideration even though I appear to have been healed of Fibro I still have various related problems. I still have my joint diagnoses and my stress responses in my muscles.

It's only 12:20 am here and that's early evening to me. I'll go to bed when I'm ready but I napped while on the road today so it won't be in the next hour but maybe after that. See ya!

Yes!!! But I am waiting for my follow up appointment with blood tests and imaging. But imaging isn't of fibro points and blood tests only tell so much. My new rheumy says I don't have pain at enough of the fibro diagnostic points to have fibro!! Yay!!! I used to at one time and I was diagnosed that way. I know I'm just not in much pain anymore!!! Yay!!! I am healed and God is the one who heals when something can't be healed by man and I've been asking him to heal me!! Prayer answered!!

Isn't it great!!?? It IS a healing! A year ago I had Fibro. A couple of years ago my pain was horrible. But today?? not bad at all. It's been months that I've not had much pain, but my rheumy was never one to diagnose by the points on my body that he needs to diagnose from. It took going to a new one to learn I'd been healed.

😂 goodness I'm glad you posted this as I'm the same too. 👠 gone. All tight hugging 👗 gone. Still wear day dresses but with flats. Bra with underwire still in my drawer as they are so pretty but rarely wear them 😂 😂 Just hate getting rid of them so bought a few without. I live in soft options clothes now too, footwear is go walkers which are very good or flat shoes/ boots with jeans but only for few hours then back into soft loose fitting. Definitely fibro related. Thanks for making me feel better about it tho.

Remain blessed and as well as possible xx

I cannot wear bras either. I cannot get my arms round there. I got a front fastening but cannot do the hooks. I buy sports bras. So comfortable. I buy all my clothes way too big. I cant handle tight clothes

in reply to nanatre

Hi nanatre I can't get my arms around back either - so what I do is fasten the bra first and then take it over my head like a jumper it means you got to lift your babies into them mine aren't small but - whatever you are comfortable with - I've not worn wired ones for years as they dig in around rib cage.

Can I give a WARNING to those who wear really flat shoes these can cause you to get Plantar Fascitis which I found out after it happened to me I always make sure now that any shoes or boots etc have a bit of a heel.

Birkenstock are very good - I use Clarkes a lot and Hotter.

I've always loved sloppy clothes to feel comfortable plus they cover my bum and belly 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Take care all 😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗

Hi Toolie. I did that after I couldnt get my arms round the back, but now I cannot do the hooks and eyes. My fingers cramp and get sore. Much much easier with these soft sport ones.

Gentle hugs xx

Hello everyone

I know where you are coming from Hidden comfort always comes first.

I like the bra comments and because I cannot reach around the back as well. I put the bra on where I fasten the back hooks whilst the bra is in front of me then move it round so hooks are round the back and then put my arms in the straps. I find this is the only way I can get mine on. I like Hidden way I might have to try it.

yep sometimes i feel like don't even need the sleep. - mostly when i'm super manic though

bras- i wear the stretchy sports style bras that go over your head- but my husband does help me put them on cos i can't do it myself.

i always buy at least two sizes up for nighties because otherwise i find it way too tight to sleep in.

i've not really changed the way i'm dressing since fibro other than the bras. because i haven't been well for a long long time but i didn't realise it was fibro- i thought it was just a combination of other things.

oh and for shoes i can only wear one pair because my insoles are fixed in them. boo! i has such pretty shoes to wear- only flats never been one for high heels but they were nice flats. well annoyed i can't wear them. keeping them though in the hopes one day i'll be able to wear them again lol

in reply to

I did used to wear the court high heels back in the 80s/90s...but they've got lower and lower. Wedges are more comfy x

in reply to

i have like one pair of court shoes my gran bought me when i was younger- tried wearing them and they flipping hurt my feet. i did use to wear them on special occasions though. x

So funny, thought I was the only one who had trouble tying bras, I tied it at front too and swivel it around. It's the only way I can do it. I too wear sports bras for comfort and discovered sleep bras when I was pregnant and find them so comfortable as haven't got any seams. I also live in trainers/runners. Have a big collection. I'm not working now but even then I had a few black smart runners I wore with trouser suits in work. Got away with it as we had a few buildings on a campus and people used to walk between them so everyone assumed I'd just arrived from the other office and just didn't have time to change shoes. As I was in IT and running around fixing things I got away with wearing runners and flat shoes. Had to wear heels for a funeral last week and God did I pay for it afterwards !

Strange but ever since I've worn a bra I've always turned it round the front to do it up even in my teens. It's really the discomfort of the popular underwired bras I was talking about for me x

Oldbones in reply to

Yes I know what you mean about the underwire, I find it can hurt my ribs and muscles and tissue at front of the rib cage. Through trial and error I found a specific brand that is comfortable for me with wide straps too as I need the support with a large cup size but small frame. If I need a new bra I'll only buy that specific one and wear sports bras a lot of the time.

I also find Im wearing a lot more layers now than I used to. If I get cold it seems to amplify the pain so I'd rather be too warm than cold.
