I would say be totally honest. Also explain your life from the aspect of your worst day...and if you NEVER have good days then tell them that. They will ask, for example, if you've made ant adaptations in your home...this doesn't mean major stuff...this means things like 'grabbers' to get things off the floor that you've dropped, chunkier cutlery to hold, zips on clothes instead of buttons....y'know, all the little things that we find hard. At my last one I was worn out from just getting there, hadn't slept the night before and I don't think I communicated that well to be honest...but they awarded my PIP....

They will be watching you from the moment you appear on the doorstep til the moment you leave. If you're having a good day, act like it's your absolute worst or they'll consider you fine. Don't crack jokes or laugh like some people do when they're nervous because if you do you can't possibly be depressed. Get someone to help you with your coat, help you stand up from your chair. Refuse to do the simple exercises on grounds of pain if they do cause you pain sometimes. Basically act as pathetic as possible even if you're not feeling it.

Make sure you take someone with you if your alone it's an instant fail. Use all walking aids if needed. Anything you don't understand ask them to repeat it, take your time answering and try ensure you leave nothing out.

Keep in mind they watch everything from the minute you step into the room to the minute you leave, how you sit/stand up. if you struggle to walk...need to rest, out of breath. How you interact with them. EVERYTHING is monitored it was the assessment that did my pip claim in and I've got my tribunal in the morning.

Good luck

Hi Ge_rry1 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

You dont say if you have Fibro or not ? My advice to you would be to give your local CAB Office a call and they will be able to guide you through the process.

Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.

Just remember that they will have a copy of the PIP form that you completed and returned, have a look at exactly what you wrote before the assessment as it is likely that they will go through the questions and ask you to confirm or elaborate on your replies and question if there is anything you need to add. I really hope it goes well for you, please cone back to the forum and tell us how it went it is so useful for those behind you on their journey and then we will all be anxious to know your result when the brown envelope of destiny flutters onto the door mat of life.

Blessings

Well I was asked more or less every thing I had filled in the booklet. She wrote and typed stuff down.I was examined as I sat asking for me to pull n push against her hands and lean forward and try lift hands above head and say if pain on anything. She was prompting me with answers to say the right thing and reminding me of things.I offered to show walking and video of things on my phone but said didn't need to see.Asked me to stand against desk. I refused to be drawn into saying yes to things as I said I didn't want to be claiming dishonestly. In all she was very nice and got good outcome in two weeks
