Pain clinic got it wrong

I was under pain clinic for my fibromyalgia and my arthritis I was having awful pain in my knee .they said it was just my fibromyalgia and there was nothing that they could do for me ,but kept papping on that I needed to see a councillor as my depression was making my pain worse . My gp was not happy with them referred me to see a neurologist he sent me for scans on my knees . I ended up having an operation on my knee to repair a torn ligament and try remover as much of the arthritis as they could .when I went back to see the surgeon he said the torn muscle was an old injury .he looked at my records and said my trip to a and e was over 9 month ago .he is now sending them a letter about it as he not happy about the lack of care I've received over the years he has also referred me to see a doctor about my arthritis as I have osteoarthritis and rheumatoid as well .it's took 5 years to find a good doctor and now I have he said he will not discharge me till I'm getting the care he says I should be getting .I. know it's a long winded post but keep your chin up people I've been ill for 15 years now and getting to point where walking it to much at times then I change gp and life starts changing I know I will never get better but I now I now have support to help manage my pain .

He is amazing I've even been sent to a sleep clinic .every doctor I've seen that my doctor has sent me to see are not happy with the pain clinic even my doctor is trying to get me moved to a new pain clinic .because I refuse to see a councillor I'm not helping as my pain is so bad because I'm depressed .my new doctor wrote to them saying no she not depressed she just fed up of getting no help .it's a shame not all doctors are like mine he also said if I get a new pain clinic he going to come with me or have a phone conflab while in there .thank you so much for your kind words I hope you are OK x

I'm so happy you finally have someone helping you. I hope he gets all your other health care people straight and helping you as you deserve.

Firstly so sorry that it has taken you so long to get the are you should have received in the first place. It makes me so angry that medics dismiss every ache and pain in our joints as fibro I have been there and worn the T shirt.

So glad that at last you have a caring GP who seems to have their finger on the button and hopefully you will now get the correct treatment.x

Thank you all special much I'm a fighter I just wanted people to know that if you think your pain is not just your fibromyalgia then get fighting .I cN now play with my grandkids as I don't cry if they touch my knee .it's made me so much happier and also them as I'm a kid again now hehe xx
