Well it's been a long wait but I'm actually getting somewhere. I know here someone was takling about cracking joints. The symptoms I have is that my joints are stiff in my neck, shoulder, elbow, fingers, knees, ankle, and toes. My muscles are weak and so are my joints. My knees lock up and don't sleep without medication. The conclusion that muscular specialist came to was that after my brain surgery my nervous system isn't functioning properly and that's having affect on my muscles and joints. Because we can't be active or exercise the fluid in our joint goes less so our joint don't move propely. So he referred me to fibromyalgia spealists. Hope this info has helped you.

He also mentioned that there are functional machine that could check how the tissues work and see what's happening inside for fibromyalgia but that is not available on nhs it's only for research purposes. He told me that there are alot of ppl coming out of education and work life so it's a big demand and alot of research is going on about fibromyalgia. So hope there should be good news in the future.

I crack all over from ears to toes, always have done, now that has also been put down to hypermobility too. Even though the physio said it's normal! I'm glad that you are now getting somewhere with your diagnosis and have now been referred.

All the best

Hello Dimplex, I know what you mean about post op neurology problems. I was wondering; if like me; you would benefit from some hydrotherapy? I go every Monday evening locally and I travel to another one once a week, I find it has helped me; with the supervision of a specialist physio; to move those tired, disobedient joints and muscles that wont behave. People who have had strokes benefit from hydro too, its not a swimming pool its made and heated for people with disabilities to get limbs moving again.. maybe ask about this at your referral.

Hi Dimplez18 thank you for sharing your post and information from your specialist. It has been thought for a long time, that any surgery could bring on all the symptoms of Fibromyalgia, also traumatic events. It's interesting that you have Hypermobility because one of my grandsons has hypermobility which gives him pain in his hands, legs & feet and there are excersize that can help build muscle, hydrotherapy is also very good. I also read somewhere when researching hypermobilty, ppl.with hypermobility are more likely go on to have fibromyalgia later in life. How correct this is, I don't know but it sounded quite feasible.

Peace, luv n light

Hi Dimplez18

Thank you for your interesting post :)

I too have Hypermobility Syndrome and my bones and joints crack all the time.

My strong belief is that my Fibromyalgia was triggered by a very traumatic event in my life, but that is just my own opinion.

I also think that having HMS does make the pain worse.

Wishing you much peace

Hi Dimplez18

I am glad you are being given reasons for your conditions and that you will be seen by a fibro specialist. Although there is no cure, there are medications that can help you feel more comfortable and lessen the pain.

I think it puts your mind more at ease when you have a firm diagnosis, so many times we hear it is all in your head.

I am always amazed at the triggers of fibro and I think brain surgery will definitely be up there.

Thank you for posting.
