Hi there

Yes I think quite a few of our members are on ESA.

Do you know which group you've been put into? It will either be the WRAG group or Support Group.

Well done, another good result in the forum, i would love to know what our success rate is as a group compared to national average on PIP and ESA. Whilst we are celebrating please all think of our fellow members who are still fighting to get what they deserve. Blessings.

Quite right Louise well if you see anyone on here giving up feel free to type in capitals!, i lost all mine on DLA until i got to tribunal then got high on both. I was worried on ESA but got it and when they stopped my DLA and gave me 28 dsys to apply for PIP i was terrified given all that went on before. Then i was assessed and given 41 points on care. How is it possible to go from 0 to 41 with a different assessor?? Especially given that its about the highest points ive ever seen on here, im far from boasting about it, but i am using it to illustrate how ridiculous the system is.

I totally agree with you, i wasnt trying to rub it in peoples faces just saying that determination goes a long way, and no one ever give up it will work out in the end thank you for your kind words, 😀

I have been on ESA Support group for just over 3 years, whilst waiting for the brown envelope for my PIP award I received new forms for ESA took me an age to fill them in & then they went missing after arriving at sorting house so had to do again argh. Got my ESA assessment on Thursday & even though I got the results I wanted on PIP in line with my old DLA awards, a lot of what was reported I could do was pure fabrication, so even more nervous this time around, maybe if I vomit & mess myself they will take more notice lol.

Sending strength hugs & fight to those just beginning there journey, those in the midst & those that are having to fight & a spare spoon is going spare if anyone needs it 😊 Xx

Thanks, I was the same waiting for my PIP accessment, my mom kept saying don't worry, but she knows I was born a worrier. She came with me to PIP f2f & afterwards said the accessor seemed genuinely concerned about your health & what you have gone through, and said I told you it would be ok when I was granted Standard Care & Enhanced Mobility so it meant I got to keep my beloved car with adaptions my lifeline. I was so relieved, until a couple of days later when I read through how the DWP. Had reached its result, it wasn't a full copy of my accessment but besides noting all the aids I have at home, accessor had said I didn't appear to be in pain, well after 40 years of knee pain, 30 of Fibro & Arthritis I don't go around wailing in pain, she said I could cook a meal from scratch even though I haven't been near a real potato of vegetable in 15 years the list goes on.

With my ESA f2f so close now even my mom is nervous about coming with me as she now has to admit, that a lot of the posts I have seen before about lies in reports were true. I had a good letter from my GP but not much else to support my claim, so I would say get as much supporting evidence as you can, even if you didn't supply it with your application form, they are able to add the details at accessment, even things like an up to date copy of your prescription request sheet from dr's, rather than just writing down, it sounds daft maybe but it's something official that shows you are on the medication you say you are. Hope I haven't concerned you more with my post, it was just my experience that bears out so many others I have read. I would guess your accessment would be after Christmas now, as my letter came on 25th November for appointment on 15th December.

Good luck everyone that is in this fight with a Government that has no idea what it's like to live on benefits & not only the financial, health, depression & many other worries that brings all of which just exasabate our health problems.

Think I have gone on long enough, haven't been to sleep yet & have to get up at 7 lol think I'll go & have a cuppa & some porridge keep smiling 😊 Xxx

Hiya ksmiles2015 thank you for your reply. Your pip sounds indentical to mine. Nice lady. Seemed concerned. Told lies about preparing a meal and going out. However I got the same reward as you. Thought I'd be better this time around but no. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Let me know how you get on darling xx

Isn't that strange that our PIP experiences were the same with same outcome, both with lies in accessment notes. I had been on DLA indefinitely for about 20 years, but PIP award was for 3 year wars from when they received the forms, which means when it is due to end I won't have a year left to enable me to have my Motability Car again easily.

But now to today. 1st off a nearly 55 minute wait from appointment time, was seen by a Dr, who said some people's health problems are more complex so need more time. Eventually sat down & he asked me for my ESA 50 form or whatever it's called & supporting evidence. I said well my first lot didn't arrive, my 2nd lot were sent Recorded Delivery & I had checked & they had been delivered. So instead of just questions to clarify certain s parts of my application, I had to start from scratch all he had was some basic info from my GP on my conditions & medication which was incomplete & didn't list the thing that started off this catalogue of illnesses & disabilities, damage to my knees, 7 knee ops & knee cap removal.

He seemed very nice & I tried to remember all the stuff I needed too but no doubt missed stuff, missed 2 of my medications, that come from hospital, until about 10 mins b4 the end.

When it came to him trying to get me into the couch for examination, which was fixed height with a moveable wobbly step I had to decline, only being 5ft, didn't help but I honestly was not gonna risk my health more by trying to get up on couch with crutches & wobbly step, so will have to see if it says I refused to do it as I did explain that had the couch been like most & been able to drop down low enough I could have at least attempted it.

So now begins the 4 to 6 week wait, I've got to try & forget about it now as nothing I can do till the envelope arrives .

Are you waiting for your f2f accessment Angie ?

Xxxx

Yes ksmiles2015 my form went back 4 weeks ago. You can only do your best and he should understand. Hope your report comes soon xx

Sorry to hear you were taken unwell at the accessment, they have no idea how filling the form answering the phone & definitely the accessment effects us all. I'm already feeling yukky & haven't got to go till Thursday. Hope you get awarded ESA, without needing any more action I hope I do too, didn't see an accessor when Incapacity Benefit ended, just had to apply for ESA & knew nothing about different rates & what some rates get free etc gentle fingers crossed for us all in applying or waiting positions & gentle hugs & a bit of everyone's fight for those going through MR or Tribunal xx

Oh I'm just so glad you have got what you are entitled to louisew . It's just a shame it's taken you all that time and had all that stress. You have to fight for everything and if you don't you won't get it. I had a friend who's son has severe agoraphobia, can't answer phone, can't answer door etc.when he had a home assessment he was actually vomiting in the sink and he got refused and his family helped him go through all the process of tribunal etc. & was eventually awarded it. it's terrible that they are making ppl.go through this.

Luv Jan xx
