As your Mother has Fibro I am sure you will understand that to be diagnosed takes a long while and many tests to rule out anything else it could be. Have you started on that road yet? You may find it useful to look at our Mother site which gives loads of information......
Hi,
Welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support and help with a chuckle to lighten the day.
It is a long road to get a diagnosis as there is no single test that will definitely say "yes it is fibro" The condition tends to be diagnosed when all the other x rays, blood tests etc come back as normal, yet you are still suffering pain and fatigue.
There is a pressure test where certain points on your body are gently pressed and the feeling is out of proportion to the amount of pressure given.
Have you looked on our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find a wealth of information to do with symptoms and treatments.
I wish you a speedy relief of your symptoms. Certainly do not think you are a hypochondriac, your symptoms are real you are just waiting for a diagnosis.

Hi shortie67AR
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted an excerpt from the *NHS Choices symptoms cache for you:
*As well as widespread pain, people with fibromyalgia may also have:
increased sensitivity to pain.
fatigue (extreme tiredness)
muscle stiffness.
difficulty sleeping.
problems with mental processes (known as "fibro-fog") – such as problems with memory and concentration.
headaches.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with getting a diagnosis one way or the other.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
