Recording machine.

Please let me know if anyone has any ideas of how many recording machine's the dwp/maximus has to have a wca. The hcp hate having an assessment taking place with it being recorded, the reason for this it's stops them telling lies on their report.

I have tried to find out yesterday how many recording machine's they have with no results. Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi my friend

I have just looked on the CAB and B&W websites and cannot find an answer either? I sincerely hope that somebody can let you know?

Maybe (Janet) the FMAUK benefits adviser may know? I have pasted the link to her contact page below:

All my hopes and dreams for you

I understood you have to provide your own twin recording facility and give them one copy, apologies if im wrong.

Hi, DWP have the right to supply the machine, if they ain't got one on the day of the wca after the claimant has phoned 48 hrs before, then they have to reschedule another wca.

You can take your own, but to let it go through their system than do it yourself. This gives more time to prepare. Bye for now.

Hi Hidden

Yes you can have your PIP assessment recorded but I think you will find DWP have stopped doing it for you. I might be wrong so if anyone knows different please say, but that is what I have heard.

You will be better off doing it yourself. It does need to be done on two cassette tapes or cds. It doesn't need to be one dual recording machine (they are expensive) you can do it on two machines simultaneously, but they must be the same format. That is you can't have one tape and one cd.

I did it myself with two cassette recorders and I am convinced it helped as the assessment was not nearly as stressful as I was expecting. I would recommend that people do record the meeting, and don't forget you can always use the machines again every time you have any DWP face to face medical, providing of course you tell them.

This is the Atos link that describes what they require atoshealthcare.com/pip/faq_...

And this is the one from Capita capita-pip.co.uk/en/assessm...

Don't forget you will need to inform either Capita or Atos (whoever it is that does the assessment in your area) in advance if you want to record it.

Hope that helps and good luck with it.

Hi, I don't know about the PIP claim as that's not for me, I have 3yrs ago had my WCA recorded for my esa50 claim.

Dwp have got to supply the machine as it's part of what the claimant decide. My nephew the other month had his recorded anyway. Thanks for that, bye for now.

Hi

Yes sorry, I didn't twig when you said WCA that it's for ESA not PIP.

Yes you are right it is slightly different for ESA in that supposedly DWP will still do the recording themselves, although they don't legally have to. As they say "However, there is no legal right to an audio recorded assessment and it should be

noted that neither DWP nor CHDA has a legal obligation to provide an audio recording service or equipment."

I found this document from the DWP about it which was posted March 2015 but I can't find anything from them more up to date yet.

That's true, they have no legal right. However, it was introduced for a claimant to have it recorded, this is to give the claimant a true outcome of what is put in the report at the end of the assessment. Hcp,s don't like it being recorded as they have to put the truth in the report, than them as they do put in a pack of lies.

My review date is this December, and this will be recorded as like before, too bad if they ain't got the machine, another appointment for when they have. Bye for now.
