Hi Bunny293

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I am so genuinely sorry to read that your Fibro is getting worse for you and I have not noticed that my Fibro has got worse as I have got older but my other main medical conditions have as they are progressive illnesses such as my COPD.

I was wondering if you have discussed this with your doctor or medical specialist as they may be able to tweak your medications and help you somewhat? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Bunny293. I'm glad you had a goodnight sleep 😴. About almost 3 years ago I started with Carpal Tunnel and R.A. as time went by I was controlled with shots At the Drs office and taking Gabapentin along with other meds. I started to feel worse from my recent job that I had to resign by the end of June 2016. I'm 45 years old and I have notice that the more I do physical stuff around my new house the pain gets worse. Since September I'm getting worse by the day that I have to get in bed and rest. My joints on my left shoulder is getting painful as well as my back.. Fibro is getting so bad by the minutes that I can't sit for a long time and not to mention when I drive for a while and I get out of the car 🚗 I can't stand straight because my joints gets stiff. I'm suffering more than ever. I have 2 herniated disc on my very low of my spine and I'm in excruciating pain that it's unbearable. I'm in constant pain on my lower spine, excruciating back pain and my lumber area is painful that my nervous system is indescribable. My hip joints (pelvis) hurts when I walk or it locks on me. I feel better when I'm just in bed , taking my meds, and just relax. I never thought in a million year My Fibro will hit me super fast. I feel bad for my daughter because every where I go she's always with me incase I can't push a cart she can help me. She is 17 yrs old and half of the time when I'm in a miserable pain She drives me back home. At least we both know we are not alone. I hope you feel better and take it easy because that's what I have to do most of the time.! You're in the right place here. There's wonderful nice understandable people here that are experiencing the same health that we have. Good Luck and lots of blessing ❤️

I feel worse of the worse that I don't wish this on my worse enemy. I used to work and be a workaholic like crazy now, I have to get help with a attorney to apply for SSD because I have no other choice. I can't stand, Walk, or sit for a long time and the best part I feel a lot better in bed but on my back because laying on my side my hip bone hurts like crazy. Good luck to all and hope you feel better. Hugs, Clara

Hi Bunny293,

I'm 62 & have had Fibro for 35 years, Osteoarthritis for 20 & Interstitial Cystitis for 12. Every year, especially in the last 5, I have gotten worse. I had many friends in support groups who have complained when people have told them that they "don't look sick." Myself, I figured it to be a compliment & chalked it up to the thought that many times people just don't know what to say to a person who has a chronic illness. Well, I don't have that problem any more as I now look sick all the time. It's true that chronic illness & pain ages us. We just can't get around it, it's a fact. I'm so sorry that this is happening to you & us. Sending you gentle hugs & kind thoughts.

Hi, I am Lesley. I was told that Fibro was not a degenerative illness although for a modern illness I am not sure how they know this. All I do know is that as you get older your body suffers other things - one of which is weakness. I believe that the Fibro stays the same, at the moment, it is just your body isn't as strong to cope with it and fight it. I hope they shot the person that developed old age !! x

As we age it must get worse as old age pains set in.doctors don't know enoff about this awful illness.the pain doctor told me it's like faulty wiring all the signals to brain mixed up and pain goes into over drive.but what causes all the rest that goes with it.at least now they say it's a real illness.I've had it 10 years x

There have been so many theories over the years from a different chemical (Substance P) in the Central Nervous System to gall bladder problems. I believe that you are born with it and like cancer, if you have the gene something triggers it off. I can remember as a child and teenager going to the doctor and being told 'It is growing pains'. Through my life I have had various short term muscle illnesses Carpal Tunnel, Bells Palsy etc. Too much of a co-incidence I think x

Hello Bunny....I have had Fibro for over 20 years (Now 69 yrs old) and in recent months have found it harder to cope, but could that just be an ageing thing. I also have Osteo Arthritis which does tend to deteriorate over the years so who knows. Talk to you GP about your concerns and may be they can tweak meds to help....Gentle Hugs xx

Yes I too find as I get older (65) I feel so much worse. They say it is not progressive but I find it gets worse by the years and the flares happen more. Getting older sucks

I am similar to Trikki as I am also late 60s and I think what it is is due to osteo and other arthritic conditions they add to the fibro pain so make it a lot worse, so rry you are suffering no wise words I am afraid but your not alone and what I do now is listen to my bdoy if it tells me it wants to rest I rest and if I feel OK then I do more but pace myself.. wishing you well xx

I think it is the ageing process, it does get confusing, is it this or is it that, as we age it is hard to tell, all I know it is extremely challenging.

Yes it's horrible isn't it as not only the effects of getting older but Fibro etc on top of it! I have to give myself a pep talk in the mornings to get going. Tried every treatment under the sun for it but still fibro stubbornly refuses to clear off! Thankfully my hubby is understanding as he suffers from it also. I try to make the best of the 'good' days and try to just relax on the bad days. Not easy I know. I find that getting frustrated with it increases the tension and makes things worse so try to 'go with the flow' so to speak. I hope you get some good days even occasionally and my thoughts are with you.

My pain is bad every day as well and really getting me down, I was diagnosed 3 years ago and would say it's got progressively worse over that time, I'm 45 but my body feels more like 95, love and wishes to you xx

I'm 31 and have had fibro for just over a year. Just in that time frame alone (regardless of medication, cbt, and all the things that supposedly help FM) I have become much worse and I fear what my life will look like in 10 years.

I take at least two days off a week from work because my fibromyalgia is so bad and accept that FM is not kind to anyone regardless of age or how long you have had the condition.

I hope all FM sufferers can one day find the miracle cure.

Hugs xx

Diagnosed 10 years ago. This affects your mind body and soul. It is so painful nearly all of the time but the pain is only one aspect of this nightmare of a condition.Doctors will keep trying you on different meds when you go, not because they think they will work, it is just to get your appointment ended. They do not have a clue how to help us. Most of the doctors see us as hypochondriacs.Sorry to have a rant but I have just about had enough!

At last someone who agrees withave me.l got great doc a year ago who believes in fibromyalgia. Also found I have underactive thyroid.kidney disease caused by naproxen and diclofenic longterm use.polyps in Stomach and some more things.I've had scans and complete overhaul. Rheumatology was next.

Now what happened she has left and I feel back to square one.I'm meant to get tumour markers done and other bits.I'm having to remember it all and with fibro fog I can't. She was so on the ball.all these conditions were on my notes but no one had said anything. X
