I'm starting to get more pain as time goes by. bending, standing up, sitting up and chronic anxiety. I was working until I had an accident at home from a fall. I went on short disabilty from Oct 2015 until June 2016. I couldn't go back to work bcz I feel useless and I wouldn't make it because my body hurts all over with lost of stiffness, hips locking up on me , and I can't do anything for a period of time. Does Fibromyalgia can get worse in a period of 1-2 years of having it? I've been on Gabapentin 800 mg 3x's a day, muscle relaxer, pain Meds and anxiety medications.

Hi Clara27 , Welcome to our forum hope you like it!! I was diagnosed in 1999 so I don't really remember. Everyone has different symptoms, time frames, takes different meds etc. I'm 54 now and have noticed more pain in past couple of years and I have pain when it's hot as most hurt worse when it's cold.I live in the US and it gets very hot here so I've been miserable lately.I don't like to complain so I'll stop here.Hope someone can give you some better info.Take care . Peck.🐤
Hi Clara27
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today?
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:
Officially Fibro is not really a progressive illness. However, if I am totally honest with you my Fibro feels worse now than it did when I was diagnosed! So I would have to say that it can get worse I am afraid to day?
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
For myself, seemed that as long as was able to take Tramadol at the most 4 x per day, I could just about manage, and Fibro was fairly stable. After 14 yrs have found it developing at a huge rate.
A lot depends I think. For example whether your living situation has changed, break up of relationships, losing money, stress because you feel worse, any stress like that exacerbates the Fibro.
I also had to cut back Tramadol as it was begining to have less effect, the terrible and painful constipation, and I suffered liver damage after Radiotherapy treatment.
