Yes I have had cramp in my legs this week! could be the heat! or maybe I have just overdone it - yes I agree - it hurts. !!!!😩

I agree could be something to do with the heat as I am the same, but I have a feeling it is because I am not drinking enough water.

Years ago you used to take salt tablets in hot weather to avoid cramps from loss of minerals through sweating. Now we are told to restrict our intake and have low salt food. It makes you wonder doesn't it?

(What a good excuse for a packet of crisps!)

I think a lot of us are suffering more than usual. We wait all this time for the summer and then we complain it is too hot!

Sorry to but in, it can be caused by heat when we sweat, we lose electrolytes and other things that cause cramping .Drinking Gatorade will help replenish alot of what is sweated out.Hope this helps. Peck.🐤

Yes I thought I should drink more water today - my OH was getting ready for work this morning and I woke up with cramp in both legs - screamed so loud he ran in and fell over the low table trying to get to me and bashed his knee - now we are both in a bad way - welcome to my world !!😊

I had this and in my case cramps in legs comes when you are not moving long time like a night in bed or long time laying on the coach and you need to stretch your legs. I did my research and I find out that adding Magnesium relax your muscles. Remember because of pains our body is many times stressed and muscle tense.

On many sites they recomend to take Magnesium every day when you have fibro. So one pill of Magnesium at 400-500 mg depending what you find better price will solve your cramps. At least for me does that.

Hope it helps.

I woke up yesturday morning and my right calf really hurt, and it is still the same now, it feels like the same as as cramp but it can't be cramp, and I couldn't have injured myself in bed so I dont know why I woke up with it. It's just annoying when your in constant pain anyway.

Sometimes is the position you sleep. When I sleep face down my feet are too much straight so I try to keep them in bend position or putting just the feet out of bed so he stay in 90 degrees. But still over the night I move and in the morning I am limping.

Unfortunately this is our ilness. Keep bothering every day in different place.

Try this and see if you get better.

Hi Newportrita,

I used to suffer terribly with muscle cramps RLS and spasms in my legs. This has been greatly reduced by taking Nortriptyline at night time. Your GP may start you off with Amytriptyline, which is also effective. I personally didn't take to Amitriptyline but it does suit a lot of people.

Also, as Pufi says, magnesium is great for relaxing muscles, though it does give some people 'bowel problems'. A gentle way to get the benefits of magnesium is to have a hot/warm bath with Epsom salts, wonderful for relaxing before bed time!

Hi.try zero capsules.my husband cycles (80 km for fun 4 times a week)and mixes them in water to stop cramps. I have fibro and they definitely help muscle tightness. They contain magnesium and can be bought online, cycle shops etc.☺

Hi newportrita

I get this quite a lot (more so recently) and it is not pleasant. I also tend to get a little of what they term RLS these days as well (Restless Leg Syndrome). If this persists or gets any worse it may be best to talk to your GP about it just to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
