Swimming.... :(

I've been swimming 3 times a week for months and months.....feels like I'm getting nowhere as I can't do as many lengths as I used to. Just bemused and feeling too tired to be bothered at times. Anyone else feeling like this?

Being a bit down in the dumps.....grrrrr. must smile more!

Luv to you all.   :)

Hi there

If you have been swimming three times a week for the last few months from my scientific workings out I think that means you must have reached France by now? 😳😀😀

Sorry.  I was just trying to make you smile.

Please don't give up.  The exercise will definitely be doing you good.

My last GP told me that just being weightless in the water is good for us Fibromites.  Maybe cut down a little on how far you are swimming and just float about for a rest in between.

It's hard to smile when you're in pain.  I think I end up grimacing instead of smiling 😬

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Lu x

Hello Miss mermaid!

I think I've taken a wrongturn as it looks more like Iceland out there.....snowning this morning.....

Yes I am tending to do more exerciess and floating these days. I just wish that the water was much warmer all the time!

Luv your grimace.......!

Thankyou!. I will keep swimming but it's a struggle at times. Mind you I'm lucky I am someone who is still able to swim.

Don't get downhearted as at least your are exercising which must be good.  I think we sometimes go through these peculiar phases here what we can normally do gets very hard and we think we are going backwards.  If we can just stick with it we can often get through this phase.  Your body might just be saying to you that you have been pushing it too hard, perhaps drop down to twice a week and let your body recover a bit in between. Yes that is what stopped me swimming was the coolness of the water.x

Hi yes I feel the same - I go aqua aerobics twice a week and sometimes I just want to curl up in the warm and stay at home - but I make myself go  - one trying to get fitter and two to loose the fat - well  maybe to at least move the fat around so I am a better shape - I use to be able to swim 40 lengths easily at a time - but now I manage 6 but after going 18 months I have gone from 1 to 6.  - so another couple if years I maybe be able to swim 12 -I also go for the uplifting social side -  I was new to my area - and have now made quite a few friends which takes my mind off the enemy (fibromyalgia)

keep going its doing you good -  "fight the Fibro". 😊😊😊😊😊😊.  Neese.

Thankyou neesey. like you my weight isn't as good as it used to be and I'd like to lose a bit of fat but it's not really happening........oh well. x

Hi, yes and yes!

I got so upset and pain became worse had to give it up.

Now I try to do gentle walking and try to relax more and do crafting.

Just have to adapt I think 😊

Agreed Miss Pop. I'm just a silly billy who forgets who I am some days! It take a long time to realise we are not who we were. But inside we still are the determined wee rascals!!! Hxx

Hi

I couldn't agree more, I get so frustrated. I used to do everything, housework, gardening, decorating, looking after the husband and children and work. I was always so busy, never stopped. Now I feel resentful that I can't do these things, I'm not used to having to ask and wait for others to do things. Everyone tells me to relax and ask for help, but it goes against the grain!

It's a case of teaching and old dog new tricks...😜

Have a good day, best wishes.

Thankyou pops. i don't like sitting about either and I'm now sore because I dont' but I seem to be restless at the moment and on edge. Not nice but there's lots worse.

Hope you are feeling not so bad and can get on with some of the things you are missing.

Hi again,

Do you think you could go and just float around and relax? Do they have a jacuzzi there that you could relax in?

That's what my doctor told me to do, but I enjoy swimming too much to go and not swim. It's so hard to change. Who knows I might one day, just wondered if you could go and not swim?

Good luck in finding some gentle to do.

My thoughts are with you.

Take care, best wishes.
