Hi all, this is the first time I have posted. I have had fibromyagony since Nov 2011. I have fought it, kept my job and has many relapses. I would like to try sorting out my diet and exercise but ma really struggling to find a group, trainer, info on how to do this alongside fibro. Please share your thoughts and advice with me. Gentle hugs x

Hello there and welcome 😊

Have you had a look at our mother site fmauk.org? There may be some information there.

Have you asked your GP whether he or she is able to refer you to a specialist nutritionist?

Another thought was have you looked online to see if you can find any information there?

Also Ken (The Author) will be along later today. He is great with links to all sorts of information.

I'm so sorry I don't have any other pointers at hand for you.

Wishing you wellness and peace

Lu xx

Hi Laffz

Welcome to posting and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I was wondering if you have considered contacting a support group to try and find the help that you are looking for? As many of their members could be doing what you want to do? I have pasted you a link to the FMA UK cache on this below:

it may also be beneficial to discuss physiotherapy wit your GP. I underwent physiotherapy via my GP and I found it extremely useful and still do my exercises every day. I have pasted you a link from the NHS Choices cache explaining all about NHS physiotherapy below:

As for diet, it may be useful to try cutting out or adding one food at a time to your diet to see if you have any issues with certain food stuffs? I have read many posts from members who have issues with gluten, lactose etc. I have pasted you a link to the NHS Live Well cache on diets and nutrition:

You may also be entitled to PIP (Personal Independence Payment) if your Fibro is affecting your life too much and inhibiting you from undertaking certain daily tasks? I have pasted you a link below to the GOV.UK cache on claiming PIP:

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

It may also be worth asking GP for a referral to a slimming group.

I gather they can allow 12 weeks with Sl*mm*ng W*rld. Branches in many places.

Depending on how difficult you find movement, there are self DVDs of tai chi etc. Mild exercise, and aimed mainly at keeping some mobility.

Good luck in your quest
