I get the terrible burning sensation down my spine and it has been put down to neuropathic pain probably caused by the degeneration in my spine which is pressing on nerves. I also get the hot burning pain in my hands and feet. Pregablin has helped me and also putting on freeze gel Hope you can get something to help as it sendfs you potty.x

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with this issue. It is not something that I suffer with.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi. Yes I get this too. A large patch between my shoulder blades and at the base of my skull where it is a strange mixture of painful to touch like it's bruised, aching, stabbing pains, itchy and sore like gravel rash. It seems to have eased a little bit since I both started on Tramadol and switched to a pillow specially designed for neck pain. Bit daft doing both at the same time as I now don't know which has made the difference.

I get the red and hot hands too but rarely get that on my feet. They tend to be like blocks of ice most of the time. Painful and aching, often itchy but cold. I'm pretty certain I have the beginnings of arthritis in my hands. Some of my finger joints are stiff, really knobbly and enlarged and very sore, especially if rubbed. And arthritis is in the family too.

Problem is having M.E., fibromyalgia, acid reflux, bruxism, arthritis and being menopausal it's difficult to know sometimes what the cause of your current aches and pains is. Or if instead it is something else new. Or is it the lack of exercise and therefore lack of strength and flexibility causing aches and pains. Especially as the pain from both ME and fibro is so changeable in where and when it manifests and varied in the type of pain it can be. I know I'm not alone in that as many people with ME and fibro have all sorts of other co-morbid conditions somewhere in the mix.

All in all it can be difficult to get to the bottom of exactly what any particular pain is. Sadly a lot of it probably is down to your fibro or ME. Normally all I would suggest is if you don't think it is then take it up with your GP. Is that who is telling you it's just your fibro. If not then talk to them about it. If it is then do you see a pain specialist or rheumatologist that you could discuss it with. Sorry but it sounds to me like it is "just fibro" as I get those symptoms too, but only a medically qualified person can tell you for certain one way or the other.

Hope you get some answers soon.
