Hi Cheril

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link to our mother site FMA UK which is loaded with useful Fibro information:

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering as a result of jaw and tooth pain, and I experience this on a regular basis. It does not last for me, and comes and goes. If this is a new symptom or it is something that persists please get this checked out just to have other medical conditions ruled out of the equation.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Best of luck with the mouth guard. I used one for about three years till laughing hysterically I put my jaw out and I have never needed it again. So a good laugh is brilliant in more ways than one :) x ginseng

Hi Cheril,

So nice to meet you! I had this several years ago and had a fitted gum sheild for six months to use at night. Unfortunately It didn't help, but that's not to say that it won't help you. Eventualy I persuaded my dentist to take out a perfectly healthy upper back tooth and the pain improved straight away, but they also discovered I had midder ear excema, which can be murder sometimes. I keep my ear dry with a plug when in the shower. Nerve pain can also cause this and also, if your jaw is out of allignment. There is also a condition called TMG, look it up.

I wish you well :) xxxx

Hi I get this on a regular basis, and my Dentist took a mould too and I was given a Bite Shield, mine is down to continuously biting my teeth together I do this without knowing until it hurts, I would imagine it's anxiety for me, hope yours works for you. Good luck.

Hope you get on OK with your guard when you get it. I've had two soft ones, that I managed to bite through! The hard one they gave me next, I could never get used to. My problem is caused by teeth grinding ( worse when I'm stressed )! Do hope the guard works for you. MariLiz

If you have a dog, beware! Dogs love those for some reason! I had a night toothguard and my dog chewed it up! My dentist made another one, and I was careful to keep in it its box. My dog found the box, got it open, and chewed up that one too!! This was normally a well-behaved dog but there's something irresistible about those dental guards!!
