Morning everyone. Had a better sleep last night, gp put me up to 50mg of the sedatives, passed out about 10.30-11 didn't wake up till alarm went off little after 7. Still stiff and sore but least I slept.

Was wondering how many of you have hobbies that help with your anxiety and depression. I knit & crochet baby clothing and pram blankets I do have to be careful and make sure I take breaks every 15-20 minutes or end up with really painful hands & wrists. I saved up & bought 3 reborn dolls to display my work on them, but found them to be even more relaxing, so my friend bought me a 2nd hand pram to display the blankets in & store the dolls. I went out for a walk with it in her village and really enjoyed it, its heavy so holds my weight well, so didn't need to use sticks. Only problem is home town folk are not so understanding or think am off my trolley. My hubby & kids are to embarrassed to go out with me & its to heavy to lift in & out the car myself so that kinds sucks. I have a Facebook page for my makes, I do sell them but not for profit really, especially the preemie clothing, 50%+ goes to charity, baby size to cover yarn, tools & patterns for my hobby. If your interested or just curious its Waterfall Creations on fb, the cover pic is one of my babies wearing a hand made coat, not many pages with that name so easy to find.

Anyway what do you do to relieve depression and anxiety.

Hi there Lynn 😊

A fair few of us here have found that colouring has been very therapeutic, I certainly have done so for the past year and it completely absorbs you and makes you forget your troubles for a while (at least it did for me as I had to concentrate as I did some fairly intricate mandalas)

If you look in Creative Corner on the right side of the page there are some examples there and also aud01 has recently put up a couple of things so if you search for her name her posts will come up and you will be able to see she has been really clever 👍🏻👍🏻

I tried both knitting and crocheting but found it hurt my hands too much, so I tried felting and that too was very absorbing and I think there are pictures in Creative Corner of one I did, if you go to page 7 you will see one of the pictures I did and on page 10 there are some of my earlier and not very good efforts.

I really hope this may be of some help to you 👍🏻😃😃😃😃

Can't knit or crochet one handed( nerve damage) but yours is beautiful.

I draw sometimes and if really get brave will post pics on here sometime soon.I am going to get some of those colouring books though that a few have mentioned as they look far more relaxing than drawing.Alternatively come on here and read the posts which are quite often enough to put the world to rights in my world.

I am so genuinely delighted to read that you managed to get a good sleep and I sincerely hope that it continues that way for you. It is wonderful to have hobbies as they genuinely help me in all aspects of my life.

I am a very keen gardener but not just your typical run of the mill garden but I have a series of garden sections that represent different parts of the world from a Mediterranean section to a Himalayan section. I also collect Carnivorous plants, cacti and succulents and grow unusual plants. I have a dwarf coconut tree in my greenhouse and an orchard in the back garden.

I also have two wildlife gardens with bird houses, bug hotels, hedgehog refuge and a wild life pond. I am very keen on anything nature! And .... I have a telescope and am a keen amateur astronomer.

I have my fish collection including two sharks and I also collect fossils, so I am very active where I can be. I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your hobbies.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I would love a pond but my cats would kill the fish, plus wouldn't manage to look after it, the kids help with the rabbits & dogs as it is don't want more on their plates. I kill fish as well, can keep rabbits healthy & strong but fish nope.
