Hi Janepain69

I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can get some resolution and relief to your sleep issues.

As an insomniac I can genuinely understand your frustration with this and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck. Please take care.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I've been awake nearly all night. Now that I decided to get up to make my self a nice drink, I could have stayed in bed because I just want to sleep 😦

Hi Jane, I understand how you feel having been up pretty much all night myself. If you have a chance for forty winks at some point I would grab it.

hi Jane, I was up halve the night too, had a hot chocolate and managed to get a couple of hours around 4.30. I have just completed a pain management course unfortunately the sleep management bit did not work very well, a well back to the drawing board!

I feel for you, my sleep is dreadful at the moment too, I usually try to stay awake to try and then get a full night's sleep the next night, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't it really depends on the pain levels sadly. I would say just to try and relax today, I can really recommend colouring in those adult colouring books, takes my mind off the pain and is very relaxing way to pass the time but each to their own of course. I hope you get a much better night's sleep tonight x

Hi Sam And I!😀 The not sleeping is hardest for me also; and I am by nature a nightowl! But this 3-4a.m AST time? should/ would be asleep. So? is this become a

"normal" for you?

The most important - and hardest - thing to do is not to worry about not sleeping when you go to bed.

I got to the point where I would panic at bedtime thinking about the long hours until morning, and would I sleep at all?

One thing that helps me a bit is sleep self-hypnosis videos on YouTube. If the pain is pretty much under control, these videos, or just quiet music while lying in bed resting, helps me get sleepy.

I wish you so well with this. It really is a struggle.

It's misery isn't it. I had it for three and a half years. Don't force yourself awake as it will weaken you. My pain manager said its because we are not exercising a lot our brain doesn't register that we are ready for sleep even though we are physically exhausted.

Since taking LDN in the last week I have slept at night like a baby it's been heaven.

Research this drug or if not I use essential oils to induce sleep, lavender and bergamot avoid sugar alcohol and caffeine late at night and a hypnotherapy cd for sleep x good luck xxx I totally understand the misery of insomnia

Hi Jane, if I have a problem like I normally prepare a hot beverage either horlick or camomile tea, then I get warm water with a sponge or face towel..rub all over me.. whilst its damp , I spray a little magnesium oil all over massage until it absorbed then I drink that hot beverage, I guarantee you..in 20 to 30 minutes later you feel relax and you will have another 2 - 3 hours sleep..good luck

I get this all the time and lately it has been a lot worse, wonder if the change in seasons is the cause.

What I tend to do is have an hour midway through the day, so that I don't knock myself out my bedtime rhythm.

I so feel for you! At one time I used the night hours to catch up on paperwork and stuff but now just cant focus on anything at all! I end up not even trying after 5 am because I have to be up for work!! Im exhausted all the time! I rarely get more than 4-5 hours every third night if Im lucky... I would just cat nap through the day rather than forcing yourself to stay awake because you will being over tired which in itself can stop you sleeping. Its a vicious circle. Even if there was someone to chat to or something to do in those hours your brain wont slip into gear! I spare into space spending hours wondering what to do and doing nothing! 🙀X

I listen to Audio Books a lot. Even when my brain feels like mush and focusing becomes almost impossible, just lying there with eyes closed and listening to a good story helps me feel less frustrated.

Hi sorry you got no sleep , you brain needs to switch off , and just because it's gone dark and you know you should sleep ,it's retwired itself and now unfortunately has its own timer switch , so it's in charge ,sleep when it wants you to as it needs to recharge or quite honestly you will go loopy , occasionally I take an anti hystmine as this will over ride it , tryed sleeping pills from dr but they don't work , Dr said they don't interfere with any of my other meds ,

I dropped off at 6 am this morning and had two good hours then phone started so have napped inbetween till 12 noon ,anything you decided to try check out with Dr first , good luck hugs

I have a lot of those nights. Usually up from 3-5 am. Stinks! I am lucky I am not working, I take a nap on the couch when this happens. I am too tired to push through the day. I try to rest.

Drinking chamomile tea called relax, with marshmallow and I add honey. Read somewhere honey helps you to sleep. Try it. I have been sleeping better than the summer. I cut back on my tea drinking all summer.

Hope you can get some rest.

Oh how many times I've been here, it was the same for me last night. I think if you can finally fall asleep to do so. I know it messes with the schedule of the day but your body needs the sleep to function. I really hope you have better sleep tonight! I don't know if you take sleeping medication but lavender and chamomile tea is comforting!☺️

I don't sleep untill that time most nights so I can truly sympathise with you .Its so miserable this is what I do ,go to bed when I'm really tired and I always set alarm for 9am and try and drag my sorry bones out of bed . My osteopath says I should stay in bed and sleep when I can .I really don't know how anybody with fibro manage to function .So sorry for you its the pits I know .
