just thought iI'd mention this. i had migraines for many yrs that stopped after menopause. now they're back, not hormonally-related but related to barometric pressure. if you're interested, search for "barometric migraines" online; there's a lot of info. and if you get migraines, my prayers are with you!

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! after menopause my migraines stopped for many years. maybe yours will, too. you may not be susceptible to barometric migraines. I sure hope so! best of luck!

I have migraines they are not now hormonal, they are related to my trapezius muscles cramping, or going into spasm. In other words its my fibromyalgia

They are just as horrible as the hormonal ones which disappeared after the menopause

Started migraines at age 11. Was diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome at 50 and when started on blood thinners they went, provided I keep my Warfarin at the right level. I still get the odd headache but they are due to tense neck muscles or eye strain.

sounds horrible. again, my prayers are with you!

My migraines started with my periods aged 12 and stopped after hysterectomy aged 40. They always seemed to be set off by stress, chocolate, cheese or coffee so I havent eaten or drank these since aged 13, but I have been getting migraines again since the symptoms of fibromyalgia started after a really stressful period in my life. I think sometimes it was what I had eaten or how much stress I had and sometimes air pressure. I still get people asking how I cope with not eating chocolate but I have never missed it. hugs Joolz.x

hi flossyjoolz--people look at me like I have three heads when they find out I don't eat sugar (esp. chocolate)! tnx for the reply! QoB

in reply to queen-of-bedlam

Hi QoB, People dont believe I dont eat chocolate because I am obese and they always assume things wrongly. Even my Dad makes comments. Gentle hugs Joolz.x

Thanks Ken, that was very interesting. Just by coincidence I've been having migraines for the last 4-5 weeks after nothing for many years, and wondered if it might be due to the weird weather, I'll start keeping a diary. Hugs Linda x

Hi QoB, I've just read the link that Ken put up, very interesting reading. Mine stopped years ago and, like you, have just started again, I'm going to keep a diary and see how that goes. If they persist I am going to go and "bother :) " my GP again. Hope yours get sorted. Hugs Linda x
