Hot pain

I've taken all the meds I can have today including something to help me sleep but my left knee is burning with pain tonight like it's hot on the inside and my arms around my elbows too though not as bad as my knee, any suggestions to ease them. It's quite a warm night here so don't know if that isn't helping matters.

Sounds like arthritic pain as I get same in knees and elbows. Medicated gels help when I've run out of med options. I find heat packs rather than ice packs more helpful. Out of interest which pain meds do you take?

Thanks at the minute I take paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine throughout the day and then amitripyline at night, I've only just been diagnosed so still trying to figure out what works, think I'll be making another app. with my GP as these meds aren't keeping the pain at bay and my app. with consultant at hospital isn't till August.

I changed from amitrip to duloxetine at night. Just been prescribed pregabalin by pain clinic. Was given a Tens machine which has been great on my knee. Lidocaine patches which have really made a difference to my elbows. This has taken time to get right. Hope you find something to help.x

Cheers, I'm trying to keep a pain/symptoms dairy for when I go back to my GP so hopefully will get meds sorted out next week. X

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering in this way and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues. It does sounds like arthritic pain as md55 says, it may be beneficial to discuss this with your GP? I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

Hi there, I can feel your pain because I've been contending with the same thing. My father-in-law's brother recommended FLEXISEQ, a gel like substance from the chemist. At £18.00 a tube of 50g it's rather expensive but worth the sleep. Hope you find it helpful as I now swear by it. Gentle hugs.

Hi, forgot to add my gp prescribed the NHS version which doesn't work as well for me. It might be different with you so another thing to ask your gp. Hugs.

I have pain in the same areas but I am on stronge pain killers, Tramadol and morphine. For my knee I use one of those bean bags that you can heat up in the microwave it works well above the knee joint and the back of my neck. The other thing I use that is natural and works in five mins is Caspian cream. It is a super strong chilli based cream that you apply to hurting areas and rub in, it really is magic like Deep Heat x ten. Because it's so strong although natural you have to have it prescribed. Also wash your hands well especially before having a pee! The only down side is if you rub the applied point then rub wipe your lips later it can sting a bit. Not a big problem and a bit of water or a baby wipe sorts it out.

I really recommend it because it works, it's quick and its natural. It comes in different strengths I am on 0.29 which I think is the lower one and the other thing is that it is not another tablet so it leaves your stomach alone.
