Hello, I too have only been diagnosed a few months ago and still coming to terms with things. It is a shock to the system, and takes some readjustment, both physically and for me,more so mentally.

This website has been very helpful for me, and I'm sure it will be for you, too.

Take each day as it comes. Stay strong.x

Cid.

Thanks for the replies everyone, yeah very hard coming to terms with this, especially because my little girl is at the age where she wants me to run around and play all the time but because of fibro that's not an easy thing to do and she just doesn't understand just now why mummy cant fo things with her, its heartbreaking for me 😢 xxxxx

Hi lmh, Sorry you have reason to join a FM forum, but since you do have reason, welcome! :)

You will experience many different emotions as you go through your experience with FM and it's impact upon your life. Some days are better than others. It is heartbreaking sometimes. :( You will recover the heartbreak, I think, as you adjust in time.

Have you seen the Fibroaction Fibromyalgia A-Z guide? It's in the "Pinned Posts" section in the upper right corner of the forum's front page. I find it very helpful. I hope you do, too.

I feel there is a lot of hope for people just being diagnosed. Research has come a long way and there is more to come. This condition is better recognized than it was 30 years ago. :)

You will find lots of helpful information and helpful people here on this site! :)

Hope to see you around the forum. :)

Thank you crazyhorse, yeah I've had a look at the A to Z guide thanks, I have been browsing this site for a few weeks now but only just joined tonight as my mood today is very low so was looking for some support, I live alone with my daughter and my family don't really understand fibro at the moment so I don't really have anyone to talk to about it just now 😢 but have seen how supportive everyone on this and am relieved there is a site like tho for us, it will be a huge help for me on my bad days 😃 thank you xxxx

Really pandashellenafay? How did u get through it? Where did u get help and advice from? X

I still live with Fibro wich is somtimes a blessing othertimes I feel like terring my hair out if you know what I meen. I'm still not giving up! Just turned 35 and am going to buy (in german) öllige Dronabinoltropfen (wich is paiable and it is a painkiller from the Canabisplant mixed with an oil), then try it out. This might make an end to my pain, or not! I let you know the outcome. I'm read and my doctor says this is worth trying, as I've already tryed everything elce.

A nother good painkiller recomended is (in German) Sativex. only that it ist difficult to get this perscribed from a doctor here in Germany for Fibromyalgia as Sativex has not yet been tested on Fibros with positive results. I'm hoping for the best.

Welcome to the forum :) It is difficult enough dealing with a toddler let alone adding fibro into the mix. Even without fibro there are a lot of parents who feel like failures as their toddler runs rings round them :)

Except help, enjoy your daughter and go with the flow is the best advice I can give. When you have help, you rest. Try not to let it get on top of you.

On a lighter note there is plenty on here to help cheer you up :)

Thanks tiredalot40, yeah it defo is a struggle, I don't know yet how I go about getting help, my sister keeps my wee girl every Saturday night but the rest of the week am on my own with her and as u will know its hard enough trying to dress and feed myself so its twice the battle while having a toddler, part of me is scared to ask for help tho so I just hobble on with things alone, do people on here get help from anyone or just struggle alone? Xxx

in reply to _lmh_1223

If you mean help from outside family I really can't answer that, and I am sure someone will come along and be of more help. I really just meant take what help family offer. I am not as bad as some on the forum, but I know how it can be on bad days and I don't have any toddlers other than my grandchildren now and that can be exhausting :)

There are others on the forum with children so hopefully they can point you in the right direction :)

Hi

Just popped by to say welcome. Haven't got a toddler but can imagine how it must be so exhausting as even if you are fit they can run rings around people. Just take a rest and a snooze when she does even if it is at odd times of the day so you can recharge the batteries. Try little reading sessions and cuddles so she can look at the pictures whilst you read and your body can have a rest. See if you could get her into a nursery for a few hours so you can have a little rest and time to recuperate.

I am sure there are others out there who can give you valuable tips. This is a lovely friendly site and there is normally someone around who can help.

Take care of yourself.xxx

Thank you rose wine, she starts nursery this year but not until September though, she doesn't take naps during the day now, she stopped that at around 2 year old, she is nearly 3 now, I will just have to struggle on until September when she starts nursery, I can get wee power naps when she's at nursery lol hope u are well, thanks again for the message 😁 xx

rosewine in reply to _lmh_1223

Pity about the naps, sounds as if it is roll on September. Hopefully with the nicer weather coming she will be able to play outside and perhaps she will burn off a bit more of her energy. Recovering from acupuncture and bungalow hunting today so relaxing with the footie. Take care. xxx

Well good luck with your new painkillers pandashellenafay, let me know how u get on with them, I am on amitriptolene at the moment to help me sleep, dyhydrocodeine for the pain and sertraline for my depression, none of these are working yet for me, am due back at my doctors this Thursday for a review so hopefully he will change me onto different painkillers x
