I'm a new member and think I have relied to someones post rather than setting my own up because I clearly don't know what I'm doing so apologies to that person and here is my introduction again. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Hi everyone I am new to this, joined a couple of days ago after ending up in A&E with severe chest pains thought it was cardiac but seems it's my fibro never had this before though...... Was diagnosed in 2010 and tried pretty much everything. Had my 2nd hip replacement in June14 and just recently been feeling really poorly again! So fed up with the pain again and had to take time off work. Got to go to the doctors to try and get some pregabalin prescribed as they won't put it on repeat.

Not sure why that picture is the wrong way around...... Won't be uploading another coz don't know how to delete it now thought it was going to be replacing the little face I have been assigned. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi and welcome, Njh1975. Sorry you are having a bad time, I was referred to a cardiac cons at the hospital and he said that my pains and racing heartbeat was due to it's reaction to the fibro, so you're not alone with the chest pains. Wonder why your gp won't put pregabalin on repeat for you? I have had no problems with getting it from mine, ah well, hope you're feeling better today, any problems just post them on here - there's usually always someone awake and posting back. Gentle hugs, Julie xxx

Hi Njh and welcome to our lovely forum :-)

Like Julie, I'm somewhat surprised that your GP won't put your Pregabalin on to a repeat prescription, that seems really odd to me ......I would question that at your appointment later. Also I wonder whether a referral to a pain management clinic could be of use to you. I think you also clearly need to get the cardiac episodes investigated and properly treated. Do let us know how you get on please :-)

Sending you lots of positive healing vibes your way :-) :-)

Hi foggy

I was given the option of pain management a few years ago but declined because I have had healthy problems since birth so it's not that I don't know how to deal with it, I cope well I work part time and hope to carry on working. I know this is a massive flare up and the chest pain scared the hell out of of me!

Kind regards

Nicola

Hi and a big welcome,

Interesting... I ended up in A&E not long ago with extreme pain and tightening, lower chest. Very scary.

Since then tested re angina & heart Ct...all ok. I get extreme pain just below centre of upper stomach (level lower ribcage). Gp arranging check for that.

Fibro? Maybe it is. Be interested to know if many others have same problems.

Xx

Hello NJH and welcome. You need to turn the picture round before posting and when I tried to put a pic on my profile it was cropped but not how I'd planned, then some were lost altogether. Luckily the fluffies sent out a search party so I wasn't lost for long.

Chest pains of course have to be taken seriously. Good luck and see you around I hope :)

Hi Njh 1975, I have also been rushed to A&E with chest pains, and they looked at pulmonary embolism, after ruling out heart issues. It was eventually diagnosed as acid reflux causing the oesophagus to go into spasm. I was given acid reducing medication, and it stopped the chest pain. Others on the forum have spoken about costocondritis (not sure that's the right spelling), which can come with fibromyalgia. Hope you get a good diagnosis soon, being rushed to A&E is scary. Best wishes MariLiz
