Hi micknjo

I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck with your assessment. I would make a diary of all of your illnesses, and how they affect your day-to-day life and activities as this is what these assessments are all about.

Good luck

Ken

My wife has as since the stroke I have short term memory loss. I've set light to a couple of frying pans now my son has to watch me during the day.

Think about your worst days and describe them in detail. Assume the assessor knows nothing about your conditions so explain everything. Good luck.

I'd have been waiting 55 weeks by the time I go for my assessment. Just want to get the pip to start with as have been living off wife's wages £900 a month. We get no real housing benefit no council tax benefit so after them we are left with £230 to pay gas electric car insurance and tax that leaves £50 a month for food shopping For 3 people as my son gets no help at the moment. And with my conditions a car is a must.

It took ages but it gets back dated when you eventually get it . I also get carers award so I can't claim personal independence for my Fybro xx

Just worried they will say I'm fit for work. My Dr has said I'll never medically be fit for work again

Traceysnow, I'm on Carers Allowance and I'm trying to claim PIP. Lets face it many conditions run in families because they are hereditary so there could be a son looking after his father with the same conditions or even different illnesses. Maybe that's why I haven't had to wait even a month, maybe they going to turn it down flat and have a good laugh! I have an old car and that's what is a great help; as you know how tiring it is walking let alone carrying shopping bags is my kind of torture. I was terrified it wouldn't pass its MOT because we couldn't manage without it. Sometimes I think I will drop dead for sure before I reach my destination, if I'm having to walk. Even 3 years ago at one of my jobs after work, I had to walk approx. 10 mins, mainly up hill to get to my parked car and often at night and I was totally done in. If Id been attacked or mugged I couldn't have done a thing. It was a total living hell.

Think I'm going to loose my job . My work is sending me too see their docs . And they aren't paying me sick pay . I'm sick of fighting over it x

Well, that's what they are hoping for, that you will get sick and tired of fighting the process as well as your condition and you will forget about any claims and just work yourself into the grave. Well, fight back, get your union involved and if you don't have a works union, join the GMB they will give them something to think about. They can help not just with job situations but other things. xx

I finally got my pip awarded standard rate daily living allowance and enhanced rate mobility. By the time I get my money that'll be 59 weeks from start to finish.
