My new consultant has now given me new medications to help with everything!

How have other people responded to low doses of cymbalta to help with the disease! Finally got the same diagnosis by two seperate consultants, so I'm absolutely elated! Just can't wait to feel a litte better as getting on top of things!

Hi Kate. The name is familiar to me but it's strange as you should mention getting a new med for your fibromyalgia when I saw my rheumy consultant last he saw how swollen and painful my ankles feet legs etc were and said I have something for you and prescribed me Celebrex I was shocked to say the least to say I felt like kissing him is an understatement lol. I have been taking 2 a day for a month now and my fibro swelling and pain has eased somewhat, obviously not completely. I would of defiantly of kissed him then. I truly hope the cymbalta work for you xxx

That's really weired, as I was prescribed Celebrex in 2010 which worked brilliantly, then my doctor stopped prescribing it as there was some issue and none of the chemists could get it. I was put on Duloxetine which did not work for me, and left me really sick and spaced out.

I have had cymbalta duloxetine just googled. Unfortunately they did not work for me. Not to say they will not work for you as we are not all the same. Good luck x

I have been taking Cymbalta for 3 months now and do feel better on it. I take it in the morning as it does take me feel more awake and alert. I am on 60 mg once a day. A great benefit to me is that I don't get irritating bowel syndrome any more so my diet is much better. Aches and pains are not so bad during the day unless I am doing something physical like gardening or housework so don't tend to take my pain meds unless absolutely necessary until I go to bed.. I am on cocodamol for the pain.

Hope this helps - good luck hopefully it will work for you.

With kind regards.

Hi Katie1111111

I am so delighted to read that you have at last got a diagnosis and some new medications. It is not one that I have used but I have pasted you a NHS Choices link below relating to this drug:

I want to wish you al the best of luck with your medications.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I've been taking it for years and on maximum dose , 120 mg per day. It works well as an antidepressant but doesn't touch my pain.
