Hi everyone haven't been on here for a wile as not been too good and in constant pain. For the past few months I have been in agony with my feet anckles and wrists, I wear insoles for my feet as I have drop foot but they are not doing anything for the pain. I go back to the foot specilist next month as I've been wearing them for 6 months. But also my wrist have become so weak and painful it makes me want to cry, does anyone else get this with there fibro. Gentle hugs to you all xxx

hi gilly, I am sorry you've been having such a tough time.

I have a lot of pain in my feet too. have they offered you wrist supports or splints for your hands and wrists? they can help a lot. you can ask for some

while you wait, you might try tubi-grip (get the pharmacy to measure you for the right size)

or the wrist supports in the bargain shops - they are white and are like mittens with the top missing,

sometimes, the towelling wrist supports the tennis players wear can help,

but please don't sleep in any of them as your hands & wrists can swell in the night.

regards,

hamble :)

Hi gillyprice

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues. I do have similar pains to you but for differing reasons, and I can genuinely relate to how awful they are and how miserable they must make you feel.

I have been looking in the pound shops recently and they have all kinds of wrist, ankle and foot supports for a pound, so it may be worth getting some until your next appointment? (As hamble99b says!). However, if this gets too painful I would definitely go and discuss this with your GP?

If your GP isn't forthcoming, then I would go to my local Walk-In Centre and see what they can do? As nobody should be left in pain and misery like this?

I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Gillyprice

Sorry to hear you are having such a bad time, you could ask to be referred to physio? I went to something called wrist clinic there and received a few weeks of hot wax treatments and excercise sessions. This has really helped with pain and I've gained some strength back. It's well worth asking your GP. Hope this helps and that you get some relief soon. Take care. X

Hi Gilly,

What a tough time you are having it is bad enough when we get carpel tunnel but feet as well nasty so you have my sympathy and a hug! :)

I have trouble with my heels feet and toes but it is from lymphatic drainage problems as I HAVE LYMPHODEMA as well as Fibro and other things.

I alway sit with my feet raised and they must be high so if you are on the sofa and it has deep arms wiggle down get your legs up and your feet high it will help it alDoc to refer you.

Good luck

So sorry that you are suffering so much pain and hope that when you go back to the specialist next month he can find some solution for the foot pain. As the pain appears to be only in one wrist I like some of the others wondr whether it could be carpel tunnel syndrome or possibly arthritis as it sounds very similar to the pain and weakness I have which is caused by osteo arthritis. My friend who suffers terribly with her wrist was told by her physio to use tubey grip and she now isn't without it, she found that splints just didn't suit her but might work miracles for you. Hope you get some solution for the pain. Soft hugsx

I have no knowledge on the feet and ankles (though lymphodema as gins mentioned sounds like a possibility for the feet ), but I have CTS. I have wrist supports you can buy at the pharmacy. I was given mine when I went to physio. I only wear them now (been 10 years since diagnosed) when my wrists get weak or sore and same with hands. I have gone to sleep with them one, but it's best to take them off.

I go to sleep with my wrists straight. If I'm on my side I hold them in a prayer position. On my back, I turn them palms up. Curling the hands in cuts off nerve stimulsu and blood circulation making the pain and damage worse.

Sometimes the supports start to hurt during the day. Physio can teach gentle exercise and self-massage, and heat is good. Hot wax is incredible for arthritis and other aches and pains like furry said. You can buy hot wax setups OTC if you like the results.

Good luck to you with this painful condition. I really feel sympathetic and hope you find out how to make it better! Soon. Cheers, Clare

Sorry you are suffering such extreme pain in your hands/wrists & ankles, I hope your specialist will have an answer for you next month, perhaps you could ask to have a bone density test, just to rule out osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis! I occasionally get a sore hand & the only way I can get relief is resting my hand on a pillow just slightly raising it up from normal resting position. Hugs xx
