Hi all new to this so be gentle! I have searched and searched regarding this issue and although many say they suffer the same there does not like many other things regarding fm an answer. I am on 50mg/hr fentyl patches , amitriptyline and duloxitine but have lately been having severe head sweats to the point my hair is dripping! Purchased chillow pillow which has helped with night times but can't find any other advise to use during the day? Going to get bloods done Wednesday as rheumatologist has asked for them and wondered if beforehand anyone can suggest something to discuss with nurse or doctor?

Hi Sheelagh1967

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are perspiring so much in your head region, and I have recently started with this issue and it is very extreme. I have pasted you a link to the NHS Choices site, and on a condition called Hyperhidrosis. I have read posts from so many other members who have this issue so it may be worth having a read and discussing this with your Rheumatologist?

I would also advise making a pain dairy, whereby your score your pain from 0 to 10, with 0 being no pain and 10 being the worst pain imaginable. List this in your diary with what activities you were undertaking, how long for and how long the pain lasted. Say where about your pain was also. It can really help your specialist come up with an action plan for exercises and pain medications if you can supply them with good quality information.

I want to wish you all the best of luck with finding the answers that you desire and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Sheelagh. So sorry that you are suffering from the dreaded head sweats. If sweating for England was an Olympic sport I would be up there on the medal table. If you put head sweats in the Search HealthUnlocked box in the top right hand you will come up with all the previous posts on it as there have been quite long discussions in the past. Hope within there you can find something that will help. Kind regardsx

Sorry I think I might be in the running for that position myself hehe. My hubby is thinking of abandoning the marital bed due to and extremely hot wife :D

Wow most men would be hopping into bed if they had an extremely hot wife! Sorry I couldn'tt resist that!

Yea, but I get embarrassed when they hop straight out again :p

I would google health issues that cause head sweats. There are diseases that cause your body to have trouble regulating you body temp. Hope this helps sweetheart!!!! xxxx Mitzi

I get them too. Makes me feel ill and dirty. My GP says that although I am on pain relief my body still knows it's in pain. My daughter got married last July and I was to walk her down the aisle. I was terrified I was going to look a wreck, so went to see my GP. She prescribed some meds that actually worked but you can't stay on them for long.

I can really relate to that! Had two showers yesterday, within half an hour needed another shower, it is awful. You have my sympathy.

Take care
