Shaking on the inside a Wierd feeling.

I hope that I can find someone who has a similar experience as I have been having. Every so often I sort of semi wake in the morning and have this strange feeling as though I am shaking in the upper half of my body. For some reason I know that is not external but it is really strange , I can't seem to stop the feeling as I am not fully awake. I have Hashimotos,s & fibromyalgia is there a link at all?

hi castlepoint, my back shakes sometimes, I wonder if it could be that? I would always advise checking out new or worsening symptoms with your gp.

have you checked out hashimotos on another hu forum vasculitis uk?

regards,

hamble.

Hi Castlepoint

I have had something similar a couple of times, I also I often get a sensation down my spine when I have been lying in bed and occasionally when sitting back on a soft chair like my spine is alive and as though there is a heart beat there. My doctor said it was from the nerve endings if a nerve gets partially trapped and gets irritated. It is unpleasant but since I have had that explanation I haven't felt so worried. Have you spoken to your doctor about this, it could also be a side effect of one of your drugs.

Hi Castlepoint

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for? I do not have this sort of problem, but it really does sound horrendous?

I really would discuss this with your GP just to rule anything else out and hopefully your GP can give you an explanation as to what is happening for you?

I think I have experienced that. SOmetimes when I wake too fast, I shake inside, but I don't think it is perceptable to others. I breath through it, also when I feel my heart flutter... I take slow breaths. It seems to be transitory and go away after a minute or so. Love the compassionate fellow answering "All my hopes and dreams for you" too

Hi, I definitely get the feeling of a strange shaking going through my body, but normally mine happens when I stand up, but it does feel like my body is shaking on the inside and it feels like someone watching should see waves going through my body, if that makes sense, which it probably doesn't . However, I would strongly urge you to discuss this with your GP who may be able to throw more light on whether it has anything to do with your Hashimoto's or any other thing which might be causing it.

Sending positive healing vibes your way :-)

Mine happens when I experience any kind of stress or going too fast. When I try to get up too fast I visibly shake. I have just had an MRI for this as it was getting so bad I would fall down. That seems to have subsided a bit.

All the best.

Hi Castlepoint,

I too have a strange shaking/vibrating sensation inside my body, usually happening when I've just woken up. I often have it, but not all the time. At first I thought the bed was vibrating and I wondered what on earth was happening. However, I eventually realised it was me. I did some reading to find out if others suffered with it and there were definitely quite a few people who experience something similar or the same. I have to admit I don't worry about it now and just wait for it to go. I'm sure I spoke to my doctor about it and I think we concluded it was related to my sleeping disorder. I've had a few weird things happen on waking up. However, it's always good to have a chat with your doctor about any new symptoms you experience. They can either reassure you that it's nothing to worry about, or look into it in more detail if they think it's necessary. It is scary though, so I don't blame you for being a bit freaked out by it. I know I was. I seriously thought my partner was moving the bed somehow when it first happened. Looking up 'internal vibration or tremors' throws a up a lot of information, which at least highlights there are a number of people who suffer from it. Talking to your doctor would be the way to go though I think. All the best.

It may be that your med's have started to give you a reaction. I used to be able to take everything, slowly over the years I'm now unable to take lots of med's. Hope this helps sweetheart!!! xxxx Mitzi

hello, I have the same or similar symptom, for me is like a soft electric shock flowing thought my body, specially the upper part. I imagine it has to do with the nerves. It happens at any time, but it gets worst when laying down. I have been taking amitriptyline for quite a long time and that sensation went down considerably. Lately, I had been feeling much better, so I stopped taking amitriptyline. For the last 2 months I had been feeling well with almost no medications. Until 3 days ago. Suddenly all the symptoms came back, especially the internal electric shakes. I have them right now. I am back on the amitriptyline and I think is helping.

Hope you get better

Thankyou for your reply RR, I have been prescribed amitriptyline but have not taken it yet - maybe I should take it. I hope that you are feeling better soon.

I actually have the same experience as you do but mine starts when I sleep late and while falling asleep I would suddenly be awakened and there, I would feel like I'm trembling inside. I think stress and drugs that we're taking cause it.

Also before I have my menstrual period, this trembling inside is more likely to appear. Maybe hormones are also to be blamed here.

But I think there's nothing to worry about if you have been feeling that kind of thing. You just need to start getting used to it until it gives up and goes away. Mind is always powerful than the body. So tru to be positive about it.

Stay healthy. All best.

Hi I've just read your question and feel I have exactly the same, i also have fibromyalgia, the feeling is hard to describe it's the weirdest sensation, you feel yourself shaking right through your arms and upper body, this happens to me if I'm having a really low day with no energy and drifting in and out of sleep. I though at first it was my blood sugar levels but after checked they were fine. When I put my hands out you can't see me physically shaking but I'm definitely feeling it inside. I also get involuntary twitches that I don't even realise I'm dong until its pointed out. I hope this helps in letting you know that someone may be experiencing the same shaking as you. Hope you keep well. :)
