Ok my elbow is hurting so bad. It's swollen and bruised. I went to the er Bc I can't move it without crying. The pain goes up my whole arm at times. They did an X-ray and said its not broken but I should go to my doctor next week to get an MRI. I didn't even do anything to my arm but it won't stop hurting and it's 5 am and I can't sleep? I've been taken a lot of pain meds but I can't sleep

I also have problems with my elbow, I was told it's due to wear and tear have left the nerves exposed. It can cause my whole arm to go numb and be very painful. I find wearing padding round it helps.

Yes I have and I take naproxen every four hours

Hi Cort :)

How awful :( it sound extremely painful.

I'm not a medical professional but it sounds like it could be Bursitis to me, I don't know if you've had it checked to see if it is that. Your GP should be able to say whether it is or not.

I have problems with mine and can fully empathise with you as it is agonising. I use a topical gel such as voltarol to help bring the inflammation down and help to reduce the pain. I would check with your GP or pharmacist first though just to check any pain gel you use doesn't/won't clash with something else that you already take :)

Wishing you wellness and less pain soon :)

Thanks. I'm going to make an apt with my doctor tomorrow case I can't take this pain anymore. I'm only 18 too so it sucks. I only got three hours of sleep last night

in reply to Cort

Bless you :)

Are you feeling any better today? has the pain subsided at all?

Sleeplessness is a problem for a lot of us, if you find yourself up and lost there's a good chance you'll find a few others of us are too so just give a nudge and ask if anyone is up :)

I hope the trip to the doctors goes well for you and that you get something for the pain, please let me know how you get on and I'll keep my eyes open for you during those nights of sleeplessness :)

Thanks I just got back and they said it was tennis elbow. It hurts a lot. I am so stressed out about it

in reply to Cort

Hi Cort :)

I'm pleased they told you what it was. Do you know anything about tennis elbow I have looked it up for you and give you the link :)

I got this from patient.co.uk which is a reputed site for health information

patient.co.uk/health/tennis...

I'm so very sorry that it is causing you so much stress and pain did the doctor give you anything for it? like anti-inflammatories in tablets or gel form?

I'd also like to suggest some relaxation Cort as it may help to relieve some of the stress and pain :)

Here's a link to one of my guided imagery posts which I hope you find useful. don't worry if it doesn't work because it doesn't for everyone. There are other relaxation techniques. Please give me pm if you'd like some info on relaxation techniques but remember I am not a medical professional just a fellow fibromite sharing some info :)

Take care and please don't be afraid to ask any Q's, have a rant or join in with the giggles and fun :)

Fluffies and smiles for you :)

Yes, I agree it does sound like bursitis to me too. I had that in my shoulder and it was agony. The physios should be able to help too.

Hi Cort

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this problem. I don't really know much about this sort of thing, but I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi,

If it has happened without any known injury then it would be worth taking anti-inflammatories for a few days to see whether they make a difference. I had an inflamed joint and it went on for weeks and was agony but as soon as I reduced the inflammation the nerve was no longer being trapped by the worn joint. Just an idea. Suex

I was diagnosed with tennis elbow a few years ago. Was told to take pain killers and totally rest it for two weeks. What you've got sounds much worse. I do know that tennis elbow was horrible. The pain makes you feel sick. Hope you get it sorted soon. xx
