My hubby suffers from ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia, diagnosed 6 years ago and we went to see specialists at the time but was far too expensive. Financially it's got to a point where we need to claim benefits for him as Tax Credits mucking us about and my working 60+ hours a week nights as well as caring for him, the kids, the house, etc is taking it toll and although cutting everything we can its still really tight. On a good day he sleeps the morning, potters about, spends some inactive time with the kids and then goes back to bed. He's miserable and wishes could do more. He's 32. Any little stress wipes him out and he's in intolerable pain majority of time.

Anyone have ME/CFS and fibro and claim?

Afternoon Mish mash,

You can apply for P.I.P personal independence payment this is given to people who can not walk far or have trouble looking after themselves. etc It is open to anyone who was claiming benefit.

Good luck

Hi MishMash79

I am so sorry to read that your husband is suffering in this intolerable way and I genuinely hope that he can find some resolution and relief to his problems. Many members on the forum are in receipt of DLA (Disability Living Allowance) and now, the new PIP (Personal Independence Payment).

I have pasted you a link below to the GOV.UK page called, 'how to claim PIP'.

gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim

I was wondering if he is getting the medical care that he needs and rightfully deserves? Does he have access to medication from his GP? Or any referrals to a Pain Management Clinic and / or Rheumatology? It really would be worthwhile discussing these issues with your GP if he needs any kind of treatment or medication?

I want to wish you and your family all the best of luck with any claim you make for PIP, and I genuinely hope that he starts to improve soon.

All my hopes and dreams for you
