Fibro & Swelling of the joints.

Hi, Just a quick question about swelling in my hands & now in legs knee's look like 2 puddings and you can see how swollen they are when you go to take my socks off and doctors says nothing to worry about check the heart and lungs, just keep taking your tablets and start doing some more walking longer distance and more blood tests waiting to have a scan on ma hands as they look like a pair of boxing gloves. anything esle that I could be doing as Fibro gets the blame all the time info would be great thank you.

My deepest sympathy the hands and your knees sound simply horrid I have total empathy for this sort of swelling.

I dont know what to suggest but please do visit your Doctor you may need to take water tablets if you can. We lways say visit the Doctor first he/she is your first point of call. We are not medical we are just fibromites.

I Had not finnished I suffer from hands and knees ad feet swelling but I have Lymphodema Do try and raise your arms and that will help a little.

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this problem. It sounds like your GP is going down the route of water retention? If so, you really need to have medication especially for this?

I was wondering if there was a different GP at your surgery who you could discuss this issue with in the hope of getting a better response?

Like Gins I have lymphodema as well. Having tests at the moment so far not my heart but at the moment only have two pairs of footwear that fit - a pair of boots and flip flops.

Compression socks can help as well, if you can get them on.
