A Terry reflection, (slightly amusing but real)

I have had this a while but even if it is a bit political I think it should be ok as they are mostly still in their seats.

We have just had a election for the EU members and the EU got a few seats and I although support UKIP on a lot of policies I want to see what they are doing to help us with a referendum on staying in the EU.

how will it be worded, will it be like a indecipherable sheet or will it give us a chance to vote with a sensibly worded paper.

Anyway this is the 'fact' sheet that I have been given:-

I bet this will make you feel secure

Can you imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees, but, has the following employee statistics..

29 have been accused of spouse abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

9 have been accused of writing bad cheques

17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested for shoplifting

21 are currently defendants in lawsuits

84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year

And

Collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!!!

Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons.

The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

What a bunch of people we have running our country

- it says it all...

And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country!!

Hope this gives you food for thought to go to bed with, (wondering if your MP is one of them)

Take care and kindest regards

Terry

Sorry, forgive my fogged brain but who produced the fact sheet?

Hi Panda

That is something I asked and was told it was fairly true. how fair and how true I have no idea but that is why I put it in the comedy corner.

Some of it is true you can check by doing a search of the MP's but some is actually fairly insignificant because although it seems bad on paper some things like writing a bad cheque is probably an administrative thing rather than a malicious thing.

Although I thought this quite funny I do live in the area where a certain MP got his wife to take a few points for him speeding, we know that did not end well for them.

I also have been assured that when an MP loses his seat he gets a pension, if he (or she) gets re-elected and loses it again that even when re-elected they get the first pension but when they lose their seat again that becomes two pensions, and so it goes. I was told that a few years ago and am sure it still applies.

There are a lot of perks as an MP and also as MEP's and I am dying to know how the new representatives behave with their new legal perks. those that some have been campaigning about.

That is more than enough politics for me as I find the whole system weird that 30% of the vote can win the election that only 30% of the people have voted in.

Take care and kindest of regards

Terry
