Hi,

You can have a preferred GP. Mine was useless and he complained about the cost of medication prescribed by the GP her replaced. And he did nothing to help me. I wrote to the practice manager and arranged to have another, more sympathetic doctor as my preferred GP. Maybe you could so something similar if there is one doctor who is more helpful than ours.

Hi ingart

I am so sorry to read that you are being placed in an untenable situation with your GP, but as jillylin has said, you can have a designated GP amended on your record if you prefer to do this? If it is solely a question of the senior GP overriding the other partners, I was wondering if there was an alternate GP surgery in your area where you could get a fresh start with a GP?

It may help to ask this GP exactly what medical evidence they have to state that your illness is psychosomatic without having any test undertaken? After all, all medical diagnosis is approach on scientific fact and not the hunch of a GP?

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your treatments.
