Hi, I really need to change my GP. I've tried looking at the GP profiles in my area & can't see any with experience/interest in Fibro or chronic illness & wondered if anyone else out there is in hampshire / new forest area and could recommend an understanding & helpful GP. Many thanks x

Hi agtf1

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I do not live in your area, but I have pasted you two links for Fibro groups in your region. I am certain if you contacted any of them local to you then their members would be able to advise you on who they would recommend?

I want to wish you all the best of luck with finding a new and more helpful GP.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi angied, thanks. I'm in sway. Unfortunately i saw 5 GPs at local practice before locum diagnosed Fibro which was then confirmed by Rheumy (about 2.5 yrs ago). Rheumy referred me to pain clinic in Hythe which were helpful but have signed me off as they said they can't help me. GP laughs at me & won't listen at all.

I'm at stage now where I need to give up work (can only walk short distances with stick & have to use mobility scooter. Pain & tiredness are not under control & my 7 year old daughter is struggling with me being ill) & I need a Dr who can both help me to try to control the Fibro & support me in claiming PIP.

I don't know if your dr will consider treating me (if I'm outside his catchment?), but would be grateful if you could please PM me his name & details of the surgery so I can get in contact.

Many thanks. Angie x
