Its worth a thought.

Hi everyone, I like everyone here have fibromyalgia, CFS and a catalogue of other ailments but the main being arthritis, prolapse discs, sciatica. I have had fibro for 25 plus years and back pain for 30 plus. More recently the pains have been worse in all my joints and I take all the strong painkilling medicines, ie morphine liquid, fentanyl patches, co-codamol etc. I am not one for visiting the doctor but my husband insisted I went as I was very depressed with everything. I am glad I did. At first the doctor put me on anti depressants and arranged for blood tests. Well it was surprising to say the least, number one is I have gout which is very painful and number two I have Vit D deficiency which is extremely low and can also cause bone pain... so everything is starting to look a whole lot better. I feel its so easy for doctors to say, its just you fibromyalgia or its the arthritis and shove you out the door. Please if you feel this could benefit you, go along to your doctors and ask to have a blood test. I'm never going to be pain free but at least I feel the doctor is trying and there may be a small light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for reading, would appreciate your comments. Wishing you all the very best.

Agree its an easy call hanging symptoms on the most obvious condition which can cause the symptoms but within the limited time of a GP appointment its the most likely outcome. I think an amount of pro active working with doctors on complex conditions where your own body tells you what is positive rather than waiting for respite search out the subject that you know most about because its with you 24/7 and you pay the price of any negative choices made with a downturn - the mantra of "nothing about me without me" is get involved.

Spreading the message of areas that are worth investigating is one of the best things we can do for each other no offer a magic cure only the ideas on the best way of living with it from those that have been there done that got the tee shirt.

Hoping the vitamin thing leads to a better place avimay and thanks for sharing.

Hi avimay

I agree with you completely! As we are not doctors we do not know if there is something else going on for us and we really need to keep our GP's up to date with how we are getting along.

I genuinely hope that this all works out really well for you.
