Hi Collegg

I would definitely send in as much information as you possibly can, and also if you have any medical professionals who will back you up, send in their details also. It may help to make photocopies of everything that you have done so you can refer back to them when the time comes along for assessments etc.

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your claim and I will keep my fingers crossed for you? Please let us all know how you get on? I genuinely hope that you are feeling really well today?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hello I would also send a printout about the symptoms of fibro and the way they affect you personaly. A lot of medics do not know all the symptoms

When I went for a medical I was told that cognative problems were not part of fibro, I told him that yes they were and he believed me but if he hadn`t I had proof that I was right.

I suggest you send the print outs of your condition providing they are sourced from an authoritative website. I sent some published printouts from Stanford Uni research data plus NHS: but in each case I made sure the source of evidence was clear for verification. I also sent every paper out of each medication box that I take, these state the adverse side effects plus the advice about fitness to drive or operate machinery while taking certain drugs. I did apologise for the expansive volume of information but I was working on the understanding that DWP staff or their representatives must read all information submitted. That said it remains for you to go with your own judgement as to what you feel best represents your individual condition. Best regards and good luck x

I'm just about to start filling in my application too. It does say in the blurb- not to send info about conditions from websites, but I agree, for conditions that are less well known or understood I would think it would help to explain the usual symptoms of your condition and which of those symptoms affect you personally . I'm thinking if doing the same thing, but maybe just from one official website, perhaps patient.uk as I know GPs use that one.
