Hi Hayley43

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to hear that you are having anxiety problems, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to the issue.

I have read the side effects leaflet for Co-Codamol tablets, and it does not mention anxiety as a side effect. However, this does not mean that it is not the Co-Codamol. As the leaflet says:

'If you notice any side effects that are not listed here please tell your doctor or pharmacist'.

So if I were you I would discuss the issue with my GP to get some reassurance of what is happening for you? Is it possible that there could be another underlying reason that you are suffering anxiety? This could be something else that you may wish to discuss with your GP?

I have pasted you the FibroAction website link below as you may wish to read through some of the information before consulting your GP:

Please keep us all up to date with how you get along?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Hayley

On a personal note I have found that Co-Codamol tablets so affect my moods but normally make me feel happier as they can be addictive.

Agree with Ken speak to your GP.

I don't find they cause me anxiety, quite the reverse, but then I only take them now and again. If you've been taking them on a long term basis and then suddenly take less you may be getting withdrawal symptoms. CoCodomol contains Codeine which is an opiate. So without further details eg how much you take and how often it's hard to say. On the other hand, it may be coincidence and nothing to do with painkillers but when anxiety is triggered for no apparent reason we naturally look for causes. It would be a good idea to talk to your GP and also see if there is anything else in your life that may have triggered the anxiety attacks. Best wishes to you. K x
