Thought I was through the withdrawal by now, but am soo tired, soo irritable, my legs hurt soo much, trying to keep smiling while getting son to do his homework and not upset him, hubby or daughter any more. Plus, I can't get in to see my gp to discuss my pains until Thursday. Have so much to do before any chance of bed. Sometimes wonder if it was worth coming off tramadol in the first place. Gentle Hugs, Julie.

Hi Julie, I was on tramadol for awhile but it just made me light headed and dizzy. But when I went on pregablin side effects from that were the same as what you were experiencing I also had suicide thoughts so came off that straight away. But everyone is different on medication, u hope you get sorted sweetheart x take care Jude

Hello Julie63,

Please may I ask was it a personal decision to come off the Tramadol or have you been encouraged by your GP?

Hello again,

Have those symptoms noticeably improved I wonder? As Tramadol is recommended for Fibro although there are others you my find can help too.

You may find the link to the FAQ below of help;

healthunlocked.com/fibroact...

I wondered about whether there was another reason or purely your GP as I am personally very skeptical at the moment. Please see link to an interesting post;

Please do consider speaking with your GP about your pain experience and if it helps you can download the factsheets which then can be easily printed.

I hope you find the right treatment for you soon and find some relief

personally, I didn't sleep for 4 days when I came off tramadol and had a tough time, but it did wear off. can you take paracetomol?

hope it gets easier soon.

sandra.

Hi Julie, I came off tramadol! but I did it very slowly over several weeks and I must say I didn't have a problem. As Emma said, I think you should go back and discuss this with your doctor again. If the side effects of something are causing more problems than benefits, then a different approach has to be looked into.

I really hope this eases for you very soon and I'm sending lots of positive healing vibes your way :-)

Foggy x

Hi Julie63

I am so sorry to read that you are having such a terrible time coming off Tramadol and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your situation.

I think that you have received some wonderful advice so I won't add to it and confuse the situation. However, I genuinely want to wish you lots of luck with this and hopefully you can get the issue resolved soon.

All my hopes and dreams for you.

Hi Julie63

Sorry that you are having problems with tramadol withdrawal.

When I came off Tramadol it was to go on to Morphine so I must admit I had a smooth transition, the pain was slightly better, I still had and have poor sleeping but did not feel any what I considered withdrawal and I was taking them two x four times a day.

Just shows how we are all wired differently and have different reactions to different drugs.

Take care and kindest regards

Terry

Hi

I have just come off Tramadol after 5years and the withdrawel was a nightmare, now two weeks later I feel like my nerves are shredded, I have just taken some Kalms that seems to have helped, my GP just stopped my Tramadol and did not warn me about side affects, I felt like my whole body was in pain and jumping around I very nearly slit my throat. However most of the nasty side affects have all but disappeared, but I now do not have an effective pain relief, and its three weeks before I can see the doctor again, they give animals better treatment. I think in the long term it will be worth it, I do seem to have retrieved some of my brain again, thought I had lost it for ever!!!! Gentle hugs! There is no point going back now, only forward.

Thanx all for your messages, feeling better just knowing I"m not alone, as usual here! Like u too Sophie, one gp told me to just stop taking them, just like that! My own daughter knows more about coping with withdrawal than him. He also told me to go out for a walk EVERY Day, no matter how I felt! Anyhoo, thanx for listening, Julie xxx
