Does anyone feel generally unwell?

Hi all, apart from fibro symptoms, physical and psychological, does anyone feel generally unwell even on a 'good' day? I think they call it malaise, not the same as depression, just low par all the time? xx

Hi wildwoman, yes I often feel really poorly even on days when the pain isn't at it's worse and it's this I find people just don't understand! They ask me what's wrong or why I feel so poorly and all I can say us that I just do! I can only sympathise with you, it's horrible I know!

Best wishes

April

Hi moonstone, yes it,s so hard to explain, especially when you look ok, people say, oh, you look alright ..., I might get one of those fibro tshirts for the summer, either that or a tattoo on my forehead, maybe it could say ...just don,t ask! Xxx

Hi wildwoman, I completely understand you, it seems to me that even if my pain levels are not a their most intense, there is always something that hurts, not to a great degree, sometimes it's complete exhaustion, whatever, but I really get what you've said !!

I'm sending lots of positive healing vibes your way :-)

Hi Wildwoman, love your name! Yes, i feel like this at the moment, have donefor the last six weeks or so, i wondered if it wad the added stress of coping with the weather. The cold, damp and probably lack of sunshine has left me feeling like a deflated balloon, regardless of severity of fibro symptoms. I cannot sustain any committment to anything and even reading a littlte or watching tv is an effort that feels beyond me just now. Bed is the only place i want to be.

wildwoman in reply to Shazzzy

Hi shazzy, me too! Bed is my favourite place. We,re lucky enough to have long sofas so I can stretch out there to watch tv, accompanied by my lurchers, who want to stretch out too! I find hardback books and even this iPad had at times, luckily we have a smaller one. Commitment is a big one for me, I get fed up with saying ' I,ll come if I,m well enough! And I,m sure people get fed up of hearing it. Ah Weill, spring,s not too far away! Xxxx

Hi wildwoman

I hope that you are feeling as well as can be expected. I tend to feel generally unwell most of the time, I ache all the time and get to a point of physical and emotional exhaustion. I hope this is the sort of thing you mean?

Take care

Hi ken, yes that,s it, so annoying when some days I don,t feel too bad, but I think you,re right, it's the underlying fatigue that stops everything

Best wishes, xx

Thank you for that. Yes, I have been a professional writer for many years. My books mean a lot to me as they are all I have left of a long and fulfilling media career, so I really appreciate you asking me, thank you.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I,m an artist and I love connecting with folk in the arts, has your fibro affected your energy levels in your work? I find myself with lots of good ideas and not enough energy to carry them out! Keep on trucking! Xxxxxx

Hi, That's wonderful. What sort of art do you create? I have found that fibro has curtailed my writing efforts somewhat. I can still type over 60 words per minute but the real creation of the work itself has slowed down considerably. I really look forward to meeting you again around the site.

Take care xx

Oh, yes!! I feel yuck most of the time. I could quite happily take to my bed and sleep like Snow White!! My 'blas' as they say in Welsh, has got up and fled! The sun is shining beautifully here in North Wales this morning but all I could think of was - 'Oooohh, do I really have to get up?' Wish I could get my 'get up and go' back again!! XX

Me too, do you think there's a collection of get up and go's hiding somewhere, if you see mine can you smack it's bottom and send it home please? Xxx

Yes, I do. Sometimes it feels like you have the 'flu. Also I find it very hard to shake off or recover from colds/infections. Last year between Oct and Dec I had to have 2 courses of antibiotics to help me get over an upper respiratory tract infection and then a full blown chest infection. I am still coughing now! You certainly aren't alone. I think it is all part of having Fibro. Hope you get the help and advice you need. Hugs Saskia XX

Thank you so much, wild woman. That is very kind of you. At least you know you are not alone. You can always message me privately if you want to. I understand how you feel with this constant below par feeling. As others have said " My get up and go got up and went several years ago! Hugs Saskia XXX

Hi Wildwoman

Yes, a lot of the time I just don't feel well. Under par is a good term to use actually, in the time it takes for me to think of what to do and how to do it I'm exhausted............... then it doesn't get done. I also get bad nausea and go right off my food too :o

I am anaemic at the moment though so I'm blaming that ;) but yes, 'I just don't feel well' is something that gets said often

Healing and soothing fluffies on their way to you xx

I'm feeling the same just now but also fitting it very hard and taking longer in body and mind to get over losing a baby. It was in the summer. Have to say my mind is healing faster than my body.

How very sad for you pugwash, there's nothing I can say to make you feel better, my daughter lost a baby at Christmas so I have a little idea of how you're feeling. Lots of love xxx

Morning Pugwash,

I am having one of those days , I think we all experience, when my energy levels have got up and gone. It seems to happen on a regular basis once or twice a week I feel completely shattered for no particular reason. I am just without energy and full of pain. I have learnt if I cosset myself today it will be easier tomorrow. So I have a couple of things to do and then rest. Hope you are OK sending gentle hugs your way xgins

Hi yes I feel like this almost every day even on good days just wasnt dure if it was conencted to my fibro ive just had the worse nights sleep ever xx

wildwoman profile image
wildwoman in reply to suwie

Hi suwie, yes, I think the fatigue is connected to fibro, some of it I think is coping with pain and anxiety, and the rest is just the condition itself. All in all horrid! Xxx

Hi

Yes, I am like this too. I have been putting it down to SAD, for which I am now going to get a lightbox and hope that it helps.

Saying that I also have times when I am unwell in the summer too. I lack motivation, interest in my surroundings, I'm headachy and generally out of sorts.

I expect if I was born in Victorian times I would have been given that age old cure-all, a large dose of castor oil. :)

wildwoman profile image
wildwoman in reply to bluebell99

Hi bluebell, yes, I have SAD too, and feel just the same way as you, worse in winter, but lurking in summer. For me, one of the worst aspects of SAD is not wanting to go out, especially when it's dark. When I was a kid, if I was out of sorts I had to have cod liver oil and malt, and also syrup of figs, no wonder I,m a bit strange! Xxxxx
