Could anyone please help my mum had angina blood pressure thyroid dieabetes & she has to go for a medical assessment does this mean that they are wanting to get her back into work or just assessing who her illness affect her in every day life

Is it a medical by ATOS? Have you had one of their forms to fill in first? Is there a phone number on the letter they sent you about the medical? I would phone them to find out why they want your mum to come in for this medical.

The idea is to declare people fit for work, that is the point of the Atos assessment. There is no actual medical involved, they use a tick box form to assess you and you need to score 15 points or more to qualify for ESA. Even then they may put you in a work group.
